Papyrus Is Shutting All Its Stores
I'm not 60 yet, so I don't think of myself as "old." With this child-like brain I'm stuck with, I doubt I will think of myself as old when I'm 70.
However, with today's news that Papyrus is closing all of their greeting card and stationery stores because "consumers are switching to digital alternatives," I'm feeling really old and grumpy.
Here is how I feel about digital greeting cards: I DON'T OPEN THEM. That goes true for invites, thank-you's, and holiday cards. I view the people who send this shit as CHEAP, LAZY, and without CLASS. Fine if you want to appear that way, just don't expect any kind of response from me.
If my attitude about this makes me an old fart in the eyes of millennials, then I hope the scent of my ancient flatulence is seriously foul and slays these culture-less assholes.
The gift of communication is dying in our culture, and I don't wish to play with those who are accelerating its death. My appreciation for fine paper and handwritten wit and poetry is too great to ponder a life without it. I still mail handwritten thank you notes, and I have no intention of changing.
The next time a Republican tries to convince you that our economy is doing great, thanks to Trump, send the asshole to NYC to see all the "FOR RENT" signs on street-level business spaces.

I do not think I will ever go to Cuba again. Compared to Brazil, meeting boys is very difficult. In addition, finding a bottom - and one  who is not effeminate - is challenging.
I was dreaming of Cuba 15 years ago where these "fiestas de 10 pesos" were taking place and you were taken by taxi to an outdoor orgy. Certainly risky but exciting ! 
Going to Havana and Cuba is worth : there are so many things to discover, apart from the boys.
Go there if you want to be surprised : 
- music and people dancing everywhere
- tourist guide whose main work is surgeon at emergencies at hospital
- people collecting garbage while smoking huge cuban cigars
- pay with the smallest coin in your wallet and be given many banknotes as a change 
- imagin that the ferry used to go from Havana to Regla was seajacked twice by people willing to flee Cuba and go all the way to Florida 
- have the door open for you at your bakery shop by a cute guy wearing black suit, tie and hat
- go to a museum in the middle of nowhere and see a female agent with a super short skirt, 3 sizes smaller than it should be, and super sexy black stockings
- see people throwing a bucket of water at midnight on Dec 31st to get rid of bad things of passed year 
- ceiling of your room 12 ft above your head 
 

This was really interesting! I once dated a guy who was a professional food stylist, and he told me lots of tricks of the trade to make food look appealing during photo shoots. Hint: you wouldn't want to eat what was actually photographed! But I love Downton Abbey and it's interesting how much attention they put into making so many aspects of the show as authentic as possible.

It’s surprising because Sao Paolo is more of a business destination and thus you expect it to be pricier, but my own experience found that not to be the case. You are correct in that flights within Brazil are super cheap (and it’s the best way to see such a large country when you have limited time). A few years back I got a r/t from the US to Sao Paolo for $350 which was just nuts! At the time I had to hassle with a visa and I honestly think that kept some US travelers away, but now that restriction is gone so to need to go check it out!
