I was at the sauna tonight (saturday). Got there very late, midnight or so, and the place was dead. It was as early as i could get there tonight. They were preparing for a party or something that was to start at 6am lmao. Anyhow, get there early. 

I wasn’t sure where to put this so I’ll just add it to the main topic as an FYI. I’m in Rio now and have been having trouble using my credit card (a Chase Sapphire visa). I’ve used this card here on previous trips without any problems, as recently as November 2022. The newest model of handheld payment terminals in Brazil seem to have issues with Chase, and tap-to-pay payments will not go through. To make matters worse, when you try to insert the card as a back up method of payment, the card is too thick to go in the slot on the terminal. I called Chase and they don’t even see the attempted transaction, so there is some sort of disconnect between them and the payment terminals right now. 202 seems to have the new terminal, because my card would not fit, and I know it did as recently as November. 
 
Anyhow, I was able to get around this by using my phone’s mobile wallet and tap-to-pay. It worked fine with the same Chase card that way. I just wanted to mention this because those Chase cards are very popular among American travelers. So just bring a backup card or be ready to use your mobile wallet if you use Chase as your travel card.

Based on the question asked, you are either not very well traveled, naive or fragile...Maybe all three  (All shade)
It is hard to convert $100 because most people will assume they are fake since they are the easiest bills to counterfeit...Good luck with that...$20s are easiest to exchange
Why would you need to carry a thick wad of bills in your money belt....Not sure what that is....you dont have to carry ALL  of your money on your at one time...the same way you wouldnt in your own city
Keep carrying in your shoe or wherever you feel wont be found in the case you get robbed...
The last question is the silliest....Again, maybe not well traveled...They would not be able to get into your safe UNLESS you gave them the code....Its not in the majority of peoples interest to steal from hotel guests if they want to keep their jobs...

Once you get to Rio and start meeting boys, they will also tell you the best days to visit the saunas..

A little gem in Rio is the Hotel Arpoador, situated between Copacabana and Ipanema. I believe it’s the only hotel in that area that is directly on the beach, rather than across the avenue. 

I was / still am a huge fan of the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. I think it’s being made into a tv show now. 

I finally caught up on Expanse.  Parts are great but some parts uneven, like the writing and editing don't hold up to the story and acting sometimes.  
Still, I'm enjoying it a lot.  

Recommend “Ted Lasso” on Apple Plus....especially the locker room scenes with the sweaty hairy chested football captain!
