  1. You are brave to take on a topic this complex. There are so many moving parts as to how we got here. It is worth nothing that, while it is convenient to refer to actions by governments by "president XY's administration" or "prime minister YZ's administration", those leaders don't act alone. Usually are pressured/supported by congress/parliamentary partners and various agencies/advisors who are influenced by corporate and foreign interests. Today, we ask: "How did we get here?". Frequently the answer is "We did what made sense at the time, given the circumstances". And in a smaller voice add: "If only we could go back in time and get a do-over..."
  2. Consider GeoBlue https://www.geobluetravelinsurance.com/mobile/index-2.cfm
  3. Celeron is just fine for 99% of users. Chuwi gets pretty bad customer reviews (I've seen a few with 25% of reviews being 1 rated - that is very bad). So for now, this is the only Chewy I am interested in...
  4. What do you want to use it for? Email and web surfing? Gaming? Work? That will influence my suggestions. I would stick to recognizable brand. My go to brands are Asus and HP. Something like this maybe? https://www.amazon.com/HP-Stream-14-Display-Processor/dp/B0C7P5YJRR/ref=mp_s_a_1_9_maf_1?adgrpid=58920830834&hvadid=675742604799&hvdev=m&hvlocphy=9004080&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=b&hvrand=8941681763041221598&hvtargid=kwd-104628199&hydadcr=20131_13388469&keywords=best+laptop+deals&qid=1696987642&refinements=p_n_feature_thirty-three_browse-bin%3A23720418011%2Cp_n_size_browse-bin%3A2423840011&rnid=2242797011&s=pc&sr=1-9&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.c3015c4a-46bb-44b9-81a4-dc28e6d374b3
  5. Oh dear. Ex-President Sharpie isn't going to like this... "I'd vote for Biden even if he was dead. And I'm a republican." https://youtu.be/N8ibHZGXcr8
  6. You may find this article interesting. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/04/25/top-10-democrats-president-rankings-biden/ Lots of talent out there. 😁
  7. Echos of "I'm hearing it"...because he just made it up and "People are saying it"...because he just said it.
  8. Funny how some people insist on relying on polls instead of facts. If they spent half the time studying the facts, that they do studying the polls, maybe they would make some sense...
  9. The question is already being asked... https://time.com/6321085/house-speaker-steve-scalise-jim-jordan-white/
  10. 336,000 jobs added. Vote worthy, me thinks. ✅ https://www.cnn.com/business/live-news/markets-jobs-report-september/index.html
  11. I have friends in Cape Town and Johannesburg that have similar water supple problems. It is driven by 3 factors: 1) less rain in south africa in general 2) much larger demand due to increasing middle class 3) lack of investment in infrastructure. These are solvable problems if you make the effort.
  12. I like to "keep it real" but that may be a little too "real" for me. I am direct, but that is beyond my approach. Lol I do get annoyed when they play games like substituting the guy I selected with someone else. Just say thank you and leave. They get the message.
  13. I believe Sarah Palin is available. 😆
  14. It is always best to consult with an actual professional that knows the topic. My Certified Public Accountant knows more about double tax agreements and tax resident status than I would ever care to approach. I pay her a reasonable feel for a consultation every year where I get the right advice aimed at my circumstances. It's hard to beat.
  15. Sorry...probably my fault then... 😅
  16. I suspect the heavy handed way Xi was able to control the country, completely and utterly, during Covid has awaken imperial desires. But that is just me, after too much morning coffee. 🫣
  17. And if you believe any of that ⬆️ I have fantastic beach front property to sell you, in Nebraska.
  18. Actually I think Michelle Obama had a pretty decent shot. But that's just me.
  19. Thank you! I have been hesitant to try Arena. Their website is down and as far as I know they don't have a Line account, so unlike Jey and Climax I don't know which fine gentleman are available on a specific day.
  20. Oh, don't forget, former president Trump is not the only (Republican) president that got a little too close to Putin, for comfort. Remember in 2001 when former president Bush met with him? “I looked the man in the eye. I found him to be very straightforward and trustworthy,” Bush said. “I was able to get a sense of his soul.”
  21. Wow. Racist. Sexism. With just a dash of paranoia and elitism to flavor the bile.
  22. Why would you assume that? At least here in the USA, the older generation had company or government funded pensions, retirement health care and social security. The current generation no longer has company pensions, health care, they had to fund their own retirement savings (401k plans or IRAs) during their working loves and many failed to do so. Today's retirees may very well be far less well off than previous generations and it is likely to get worse as social security gets into deeper trouble. Can't speak for other countries tho.
  23. And the British should apologize to India and South Africa, the Chinese should apologize to the Russians and Tibet and and and... How far do we go back? I'd rather see leaders learn from history than live in the past.
  24. There ya go!
  25. We all have our preferences. That should surprise no one. The bigger problem, in my opinion, is the intolerance of other people's preferences. Of course there are preferences that can be harmful and we need to be aware of that, but between consenting adults...you do you. Older guys are very much aware that there are younger guys who enjoy their company, wisdom and experience. Do some find it strange? Sure. Just like I find pineapple on a pizza strange. But I don't let it bother me.
