On a visit to Winner Bar a day or so ago, while sitting outside waiting for a friend, #38 asked me for a drink which I agreed to. I have seen him many times I never did chat with him but found he spoke well and was quite interesting. Then inside the bar I asked the lad with the blue bikini and tattoo on his chest to sit with me. He also was interesting to chat with and discovered he was born in 2000 the year that I first visited Pattaya. Not sure why I never asked either of them to sit with me in the past but will in the future. Very friendly!

don't worry. For me flying to Brazil would be cheaper than Thailand and still is Brazil 0: Thailand 30. Why ?

for me advantages listed above offsets disadvantage of boys being more expensive and also flight time being twice as much. I gnash my teeth , suffer badly and still prefer Bangkok and vicinity.
I'm not particularly chickeny and vast travel experience taught me that places supposedly dangerous  aren't as bad as word says but still I'm not big fun of having my vacation time spoiled by worries ' other side of railway station is considered unsafe" ,  "  area between park   and river bank is said to be off limits for tourists " , " when in taxi make sure windows are closed" and most important ' bringing unknown  boy to your hotel may not be safe" . All quotations from various trip reports on this site. 
So  up to now I'm content to pay 3000 baht  ( 100 $) rather than 200 reais (40$) secured in knowing that if I need to walk from bar to hotel at say 2 am I don't need to call taxi nor constantly look over my shoulder. 
 

Everyone can do with their money whatever they want, however you are right Thailand become very expensive for the same service you pay between third to half price in South America compared to Thailand and the boys there are very attractive this is why I put Thailand on hold and focusing in South America nowadays.
Thailand has other advantages :
1.accommodation and food is cheaper.
2.More easy to find boys and bring them to your room.
3.It's much safer country.

I recommend M bar, it’s parallel to the main soi in jomtien complex. Just look out for anyone you like and have a drink with them, at any bar there. 
And don’t waste time on the apps. Many bad photos and phony ones. Imho, apps are better for expats who can waste time. I live there half the year and only use it to contact my regulars who usually work in the bars.

Recognise your anxiety, and don't let it win. You'll have a good time, and you have plenty of time to explore the bars and find which one you like.

in Boyztown drinks in host bars the same as jomtien in go-go 400-500, off fee 500-1000 ( yes , at BoyzBoyzBoyz I was quoted that last time there in May), tips 2000 short time , 3000 long time, BoyzBoyzBoyz boys may ask for more.
You are so many days it should not be problem to visit all 6 go-gos in Boyztown plus both in Sunee ( apart from Winners there's also Nice Boys, very progressive bar )
One walk down the aisle at Jomtien complex and you will know which bar or boy gets your attention, if undecided , take  a drink in any bar and then make another attempt  at survey of realm. After 3 days you will be an expert 

It will depend on a lot on what environment (bar or gogo) and types of guys you like, but the good news is that everything is close enough to get from one area to the other any night you want to. Just wave down and hop on a baht bus facing the direction you want and pay the 10 baht to the driver when it stops going the direction you want, it's only about 10 mins from central pattaya to jomtien in low traffic.
Jomtien are host bars and massage, so guys will all be sitting in the open and you walk past while they try to pry you into their bar or shop. It can be a little less intimidating than a gogo for newcomers where 10s of guys on stage are staring at you until you bring someone down for a drink.
Boyztown is a mix of gogos like dream boys, toyboys and boysboysboys (among others) and some host bars of a similar style to Jomtien but less hosts usually. A benefit i find with Boyztown is it's a lot more central and you have more at your doorstep.
Sunee is really down to one gogo (for me) Winner Boys which sits down the mostly dark sunee plaza and can vary night to night but usually 5-10 guys, don't expect the big show stage of boys like in regular gogos. it's a more, umm, intimate environment and usually takes a few drinks flowing to get things interesting.
If it's your first time and you have over 2 weeks, i'd split my hotel stays 50/50 between jomtien and boyztown then just take a mototaxi to sunee if you want to go.
Not all guys are on the apps, it can be a good way to fill an hour to see whos around, but if you really want to see whats on offer you need to put foot to pavement anytime after about 9pm for most bars and gogos, after 1pm-ish for massage places. 
The bar that's best is the bar that has the guy who enticed you in for a drink, no one has the same taste as anyone else on here.
Drink prices, off fees and tip expectations, just ask the guy. if the price works then go enjoy your time with them.

now you know why Christian  gets boys for 500-1000 baht. Hotter boys command higher prices
I agree with you about Tawan boys. They are usually older ,longer in business and know better what it takes to get and keep clients more and are less inclined to drama. On another hand they are also better in extracting money but still provide something in exchange. On last trip one of them asked me to buy him a jeans on sale at Silom Center, then suggested that we go to my hotel so he can try them on  which was approved and converted into very nice , not rushy short time session with not tip expected.
Speaking about Moonlight, yes models are keen on partying but that also means that they do at our cost and it may run to running tab well above we intended to pay and create embarrassing situation when you run out of money. Been there (in some Thonglor club with some of their models ) , done that (tab was higher than I had on me , he ended paying by his card and I reimbursed him in the room but felt very embarrassed and at end of day it was not worth expense ).
Other thing about Moonlight , we shouldn't forget they they also have regular go-go boys and some of them are no less attractive that most of models and are less demanding , also their off fee is 500 , not 1000 like in models case. in fact if I found myself there last night I would be looking for 2 non models before I contemplate my favorite model from there.
About Jupiter  I had my share of disappointments there over years but absolutely don't agree that going there is waste of time and money. Esthetics are great , as a bunch they are by far most attractive looking of all bars whether you like type or not, male form there is top notch. They mat not smile when parading but if you invite them to sit with you , all of the sudden they do.
My all post-covid offs from there , at least 4 were very nice , only thing which I couldn't manage to extract from them was long time  but at least they were up front about that when I asked and  did not resort to inventing some stories. So Jupiter is not my first choice but still a must at least one a week on any trip , even if only to see boys parading and not smiling. One of our members who likes the same type like me had even better luck recently almost landing long time session at boys suggestion.

Yes that sounds like a plan. Go there to unwind. You may still strike lucky and find an Adonis. At the very least you will form your own opinion whether Pattaya is to your taste or not.

There are most definitely hunky types at the Complex. Check it out. I’m into twinks and lucky for me there are more of them than beefy guys there. 
I also prefer go gos over host bars. But a night in Jomtien breaks up the monotony of the same go go bars night after night.
Also all the message places at the complex can add to the evening. 

I'm, like you,  one of those liking different type guys as well and yet , on quite a few occasion I found there at Complex somebody I like. So better come with open eyes and without preconceived notions

You buy them a drink and engage in light text conversation via translator. Then a quick trip to a room nearby.

how do i know what bar boy is offable and wich isnt? , and what are they fees ? do i always have to pay the bar to take one to my hotel?

yes, I noticed it yesterday, I can open profiles and see the main picture but can't go any further. And no, I'm not going to pay for any subscription , I rather  pay for drink in the bar.

Tastes differ. There are several posters here who enjoy Jomtien Complex and the type of boys it offers. I have walked that stretch many times over 20 years and have not found it of any interest. Like @moistmango I much prefer the sight of skin in gogo bars (even better if on a beefy lad) - not something on offer in Jomtien. I am also no fan of fem twinks which are disproportionately represented in Jomtien Complex. The key thing about host bars is that the hosts are supposed to engage clients in pleasant, maybe a bit naughty, conversation. This alas is mostly beyond the language skills of these farm boys. So what does one do sitting there, nothing to watch, nothing to converse about? If it floats your boat, good for you, but l would say Jomtien Complex serves a narrow type of client interest.
Yet I mostly choose to stay in the Jomtien area. I like the proximity to the beach. Boyztown is just a short songtaew ride away.

Spend the evening there. There are lots of bars and places to eat in Jomtien so plan to have your evening meal there then simply stroll around the complex picking up the vibe. Most evenings you are going to see over 100 boys between the various massage shops and bars in the complex.
Myself, I often stay in the complex and travel into Pattaya when I want to.  Zing Resort and Spa offers really good deals though stay Pool Side unless you are ok with the noise of the bars. Agate is a little more expensive but again enjoyable. One nice thing staying there is the apps are literally full of guys working within 200m of your hotel room. Very handy and avoids off fees. 
 

During the first couple of days of my trips checking out the Complex I sometimes find difficulty in making the decision as to which bar to sit down at. Early in the evening the boys are concentrating on attracting custom rather than latching onto a potential off. A couple of strolls up and down is needed to assess the attractiveness of the boys, the music being played and if there is a customer there who I know. Later, say 11+ they become somewhat more interested in drink invitations and maybe potential offs. You see more customers having closer contact with the boys possibly cuddling and kissing.
I’ve stayed at the Zing a few times, usually in one of the larger rooms, and have never been troubled by bar noise. The pool is of reasonable size allowing a bit of exercise swimming and is very pleasant to sit by during the daytime, possibly with a “boyfriend du jour”.  

that's outright blasphemy and I'm not big fan of Jomtien Complex. Still with so many bars and massages chances you find somebody you like are overwhelming. Heed forky's advice above and just go and at least have  a walk.

Given how close Jomtien is to Pattaya I would really take a look at both unlessyou are only there for a day. Why limit your options for the sake of 10B?

Although Jomtien does not have go-go bars, the host bars offer many more boys to pick and choose from, so lack of go-go bars is not a problem.  There is one bar, DoDo, in Jomtien Complex which does have some dancing boys which is  a nice treat. 
The largest gay scene is in Jomtien Complex, aka Supertown. There are 6 go-go bars in the Boyztown area and 2 go-go bars in Sunee Plaza.
I should mention that Jomtien Complex is about a 15 minute ride by Baht Bus(10 Baht) from Pattaya or a short motorbike ride (80Baht)  or a Bolt Car ride(100 Baht).

I asked about the different scenes in Pattaya... I was told that Jomtien has only host bars, no go-go bars. I've been to Pattaya before, but not to Jomtien, so I can't say first hand what the scene is there.

Thanks for asking this question; was wondering myself. Heading to PT in a bit for the first time, and wondering if I should even waste time with Jomtien. Regular bars aren't my scene, gogos are - but maybe there's a first for everything, at least I can say been there, didn't want to do that.
