Former congressman Matt Gaetz (R-Florida) announced in a social media post Thursday that he was withdrawing his name from consideration to be attorney general for President-elect Donald Trump’s incoming administration. “I had excellent meetings with Senators yesterday. I appreciate their thoughtful feedback — and the incredible support of so many,” Gaetz said. “While the momentum was strong, it is clear that my confirmation was unfairly becoming a distraction to the critical work of the Trump/Vance Transition. There is no time to waste on a needlessly protracted Washington scuffle.”

Prediction: The entire Gaetz report will be leaked, the report downloaded by a hacker will be released, videos and other evidence of wrongdoing will surface, the evidence will be substantial that he engaged in paid sex with at least one minor, and every single Senate Republican will fold and still vote to confirm him. Wish I was wrong but have you been paying attention to the Republican Party lately? And this is the party that tried to take down Clinton over what was, at least, a legal act.

The Senate will approve him. Republicans have no morals and no scruples. We have a President-elect known to have sexually abused women, known to have paid women for sex, and it doesn't matter. Sexually abusing women, even under age ones, is a badge of honor for Republicans. And look at the Speaker of the House - actively seeking to cover all this up.
