You can also pay for a room. This is always by the hour and they come at various prices, depending on the size. All rooms have a full bed in them with linen and towels so the more expensive ones are simply larger. The comfort remains the same. The price list for the rooms is visible at the entry. 
After you are done with the session some providers will take a shower with you, some won't. Then you both go to the top floor (street level) where the lockers are. You then get the money from your locker. The provider will be waiting for you in the bathroom next to the entrance (you can't miss it, it will be very clear where it is) and you give them the money there. I don't know why that is the spot but it's been that spot for as long as I've gone there. 
The providers don't mind it if you have your phone with you (I use it for Google translate).
If you had a great time with a provider, I suggest you buy them a drink at the bar (if they're not otherwhise engaged with another client). I find it nice chatting to the guys and getting to know them.
I totally understand one might be nervous going for the first time, but I've found that most everyone there (from the staff to the providers) are friendly and want to help you relax because happy, relaxed clients spend more money 😉
Ideal times to go are any day between 4pm and 8pm. The busiest days (with the largest number of providers, but also the most clients) are (usually) Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, same time (4pm till 8pm). Outside these hours there will rarely be providers in the sauna. 

Hotel prices really seem to have been exploding in Barcelona in the last year and a half. That together with flights getting more and more expensive, I'm less inclined to make the trip to Barcelona for sauna Thermas, even though I've had loads of fun there over the years.

There are some ways to mitigate this if you are happy to stay a bit outside of Barcelona, and out of season.
For instance, there are currently around ten hotels for less than €80 per night available within five minutes of Sitges train station for a random midweek night in March.
It is just forty minutes from Sitges station to Sants Estacio station, which is 15 minutes walk from Thermas.
Spend the afternoon in Thermas and go out in the gay village in Sitges for the evening. I am sure there would be a few places open even on a midweek evening in March in the gay village.

I was at the Lab last week - as always, it's excellent and one of the world's most unique experiences, I'd say no other cruising club is like the Lab.
The best day is indeed Thursday - it's a naked party. Doors are from 21 till 23 iirc, I came in 20-25 mins before nine and was in at about quarter past, maybe 20 past. You can arrive a bit earlier (recommended in summer) so you can get in straight away. Face control is very liberal, unlike Berghain, and you will be let in unless you are a woman or high/drunk. All sorts of ages, body shapes and behaviors. There were twinks, there were literally 80-year-olds, there were fats, there were muscular guys - everybody's fucking.
Friday is a day without a dress code, normally with 2-for-1 drinks, unless it's the first Friday of the month which is a special party called Lab Dance where there are live techno DJs and the people are there equally for music and sex (unlike other days where it's just sex) - it's usually very crowded, about 1,500 people, and if you ask me I'm not a fan of that particular vibe.
I've been to a couple of specific parties that are really good. The mask party requires everybody to wear a mask - normally people wear balaclavas which is hot, but I saw puppy masks and even surgical covid masks. I've been to the piss party which is simply excellent with a totally different crowd and vibe, I really liked that one.
There's no guarantee that you will be able to fuck with all those hotties, but as the night progresses and some of them do an intake of drugs, more of those hotties become available - and I've seen pension-age guys plough model-looks types who were either in a slutty haze or on GHB.
