None what so ever . Constant stream of baht buses all night. Even after 2 am there will be plenty of transportation.. And when you are going to BT you exit the back gate on Beach Rd and again plenty of baht buses.

If you don't want to be in a Fishbowl then you can rent studio apartment in View Talay 6 . 5 minute ride from BT and the guard may or may not be awake to ask for boys id. (no questions). You can find them on Airbnb, Cando Property and Dancewatchers .com for $40-60 per night with some extra charges for maid service very day. Far more luxurious then anything you will find in most Hotels. IMHO,even a nice Big Pool and convenience stores and laundry on premises.

Hard to give choices without knowing your preferred budget? I looked at a weekend in March for Ambience on Booking and rates ran from about 1200 baht to 1800 baht for a suite. Most reviews are ok with the exception of people who did not realize they were on a Gay Street.

Why fight the traffic if Bars are not important. Stay in Jomtien.

They are a great location naturally as in the middle of BT. For the first time visitor you are in the middle of the GoGo Bars, Beer Bars and some Massage Parlors. Depends on you if you like living in a Fish Bowl or if it even bothers you. Many years ago on my first trip I stayed in Ambience and it was fine but subsequently I decided I did not like everyone knowing who I was taking to my room etc. (just me) I have friends who have stayed in those Hotels recently and I think Ambience might be the better choice because of upkeep etc but others may feel different. But definitely a good choice for your first visit.

True I've had a lot of practice. In Pattaya I assume every boy is a Moneyboy , maybe part time but still interested in money. I start off with first contact telling them what I like , and if the photos are questionable, I ask for more. Boys who only Top will not respond . Enough already!!! I have seen hundreds of boys from Romeo, Jackd and Hornet. Exactly 2 showed up at the door who were not the boys in the photo and in 1 case the boy was much better looking and the other I sent away. Now some were older then the age but for me still Hot. I agree that in BKK the apps are more used for things other then being a MoneyBoy. I continue to believe that in 95% of the cases as long as your reservation is for 2 people in the room they have no choice and all they can ask for is that you register your guest. None of their business whether you just met him or her. In any of those cases a 100 baht bill will usually whisk you on your way without registering your guest. I have stayed in every Marriott, Hilton, most Sheratons and many others and never once was more then given a glance and kept walking. Now your guest has to be dressed cleanly or you may get stopped but that is why invariably boy will ask you where you are staying. They will know if the Hotel is a problem.

Never stayed there but many similar Hotels in BKK. Just walk in like you own the place and you are unlikely to have any problems.

So to continue this travel thread I have finally made it to Mexico City. It has been on my list for awhile and with a push from Floridarob I arrived yesterday. Short 3 hour flight from Atlanta which is the reason I was looking at it. Getting too old for those 26 hour trips more then once a year. Luckily the $ has been extremely strong so 17 pesos to the dollar was the rate. Airport is definitely old but clean. I was first off the airplane so short line through immigration and customs. They have like 4 taxi companies where you buy in advance in the terminal. The rates vary greatly. Not sure why probably because of size of car etc. I choose the cheapest at 225 pesos $13.00. No waiting , small car but clean. About 20 minutes to the Hotel. I am staying at the LeMeridien on points. An all suite hotel and the rate if you pay is about $100 so it would appear nice Hotels are very fairly priced. For future trips I did look on Airbnb and found many nice apartments at $70 or less in good locations. This is a big city so you need to know where you will be staying so as not have trouble getting boys etc. The Hotel has had no problem with guests but need key for elevator so I meet them out front. I have had a couple of real nice meals in sit down restaurants where I could not finish the plates and the prices were reasonable.
