  1. Not as shocked as I am when I look in the mirror and miss the fit military lad I used to be... thank you thank you thank you
  2. I am 67, gwm. he is 50yo chinese malay. married 20 years but happy to play together. I used to be a military sauna hunk, he used to be a penang 'army bar' cock sucking bad boy. These days we are not so pretty, a bit larger, a bit balder, a bit slower, a bit more insecure and not as cute as we used to be. We still like gay sex. Bangkok is, on the surface, a little intimidating for us... but we would like to enjoy some sauna adventures. We love a steam room and a dark room and a play area. We are coming to KoKbang in january and don't want to rock up to the twinky pretty boy sauna and feel like two old dinosaurs who they won't let in. He likes a hairy bottom dad, I like a skinny bottom slutty twink. If you have the knowledge, which sauna do you think would be appropriate for us to enjoy? We were in amsterdam a few years ago and found that some venues have age limits, we don't know if that is the case in BKK but that said, there is no point in us turning up like something out of jurassic park to a venue where we will feel unwelcome. While I use the word unwelcome, I don't mean that in an unkind way, I mean that in a gay way where people of a certain age don't go to venues where other people of a much younger age gather.... Sorry if that sounds out of place, it's how my mind works. I am almost 70, I certainly don't look like I did in my 30's london sauna whore days, I'm not sure many young pretty boys want to see me naked in a small towel looking for a grope... But if I can find one, I want to fuck the arse of a pretty young thing (18+) and he wants to fondle a hairy chap and maybe stick some dick up him..... Advice welcome. cheers, Mike and Tris. (BKK jan 26)
  3. Proton VPN is not expensive. It lets me enjoys all sorts of things that certain countries would rather I did not see. It also lets me in to pirate bay (using TOR browser and qbit torrent) so I can download YIFY movies for my tv set. I paid for a year, it covers several devices, in my case two laptops two phones all with the same log in. It's also handy to have when there is only public wifi available. I don't use it for all my web acitivity but when I'm blocked or doing something sensitive it's well worth having.
  4. Being 'ghosted' is a horrible experience and difficult to understand when you have appeared to have done nothing wrong. It can rip your insides apart because there is no explanation. That 'not knowing why' is a monster It's not easy to move on but you certainly need new distractions, my only advice is for the time being, keep any distractions light and at arms length. Situations like this do change (possibly when the other party needs something, in my experience) in a couple of weeks you might get contact again, at which point it would pay to be a little distant and 'busy' while you consider your options.
  5. This is a very useful tip to be aware of if one doesn't want to feel uncomfortable and declining the kind offer, thanks.
  6. thanks for the advice, much appreciated. I'm staying at the The Quarter Saladaeng
  7. We will be inn BK in January for the month (first time ever) with my husband We are considering a happy ending massage but niether of us really want to visit a parlour separately. We will be staying at The Quarter next to Limphini Park. Questions: What's the probability of having a 'guest' visit us (assuming the quarter permit such visits) What could one expect as a ballpark cost for an hour (30 minutes each while the other watches) in our apartment (massage and handjob) In other words, what would be considered too cheap and thus avoid, because we want someone who knows thier shit and isn't likely to a 'wideboy' Would one be better to go to a parlour and ask for a visit, go on grindr and take a chance or another option you know that we don't I am aware LINE is a favoured app but I as far as I'm aware it's a messaging app and not an app to go browsing lads, so one would have to know the lad first to get his LINE number. If you have any other tips or tricks, do tell..... We are a married couple of 20 years, currently in Penang for the last year. Hubby is malay/chinese. Doing a border hop for january to BK. We also want a regular foot massage while we are there but it has to be a cute lad doing it, as much as I love aunties, I want to see, stare at, and feel a cute lad do my feet while my filthy private thoughts about said cute lad, tease my mind. Cheers for now, Mike.
  8. There are insuffient emojis to express how much this phrase made me chuckle.
  9. Sounds good. I did read about the shuttle service when I booked but was unsure what areas it served, so thanks for this tip. A: I've been sweating my balls off in Penang for the last year so I should be ok B: That's good to know I chose this place due to the sheer size of the apartment and the pool. There are fewer choices when it comes to a pool. We are there for a month so having space is a luxury, the month in Hat Yai earlier in the year at Escent was in a 30sqm apartment which wasn't easy. As mentioned we are 'stay at home' types during the heat of the day and being so close to Lumphini park is a big plus for our evening strolls when we don't want downtown strolls. I'm very tempted for a happy ending massage once I've convinced my husband that I'll play safe, but it won't be easy as bareback is something I do like but common sense must prevail. I'm too old for the clap clinic, those twink days are well behind me. I'll be happy with a good foot massage as long as he's cute and I can stare at him! I'm most grateful for the extra comments tips and thoughts thus far. cheers.
  10. UPDATE. ALL SORTED I have had a good look around the apps and now booked for a month in a deluxe suite/apt on Sala Daeng 1/1 at 'The Quarter' I had to compromise a little on distance from sio 3 and room size/facilites/pool, but it looks close enough for comfort. Walking is something we enjoy, 8000 steps a day is a ballpark. I am very much looking forward to my first trip to BK. I've been in Penang for around 9 months, a quick hop to Hat Yai for a month and last christmas in patong. Now for some proper Homosexual lifestyle in BK. Looking forward to some handsome chap giving me a foot massage....... Flying up from penang first week of Jan.
  11. Thank You. I do use booking dot com but if Air b+b is better for BK then thank you for the tip. soi 3 sounds good too. EDIT: 20 minutes later, signed up and verified at air bnb. There appear to be some perfect choices.
  12. Older couple, together 20 years. Heading to Bangkok for the first time, in Jan '26 for around 5 weeks. Mainly to fullfill a border hop out of Malaysia so we can be back to Penang for Chinese New year. As we're going to be staying for around a month we want to rent an apartment rather than a hotel stay. I see the main district of interest is Silom Soi4 so we may as well throw ourselves in to the thick of it. If you have any suggestions for a good apartment rental I would be pleased to know of it. Equally if you know of an apartment rental to avoid like the plague, I would very much like to hear of it. If you have any tips suggestions or 'what ever you do don't do that' I'd also be appreciative. We're looking to 'stay' rather than going any distance out of the city during our stay, we are 'stay at home' types but want to be in the heart of the gay district. We don't really want to stay in a hotel for 5 weeks, an apartment would suit us better. I will head off and read some posts about your adventures here in the meantime and have a browse in booking.com and airb+b We are gwm/gcm in our 50's and 60's we're not very active but do enjoy a swimming pool if that is something you can point us towards. My husband is malaysia native and we've been in Thailand twice before recently, Patong and Hat Yai In his twink days hubby was a regular Thailand tourist but equally, he never made it up to BK We're sorted with TnG and Bolt etc. We're internet and phone savvy. Cheers for now, Mike.
  13. I'm using proton VPN paid version. (not affiliated or advertising) it gets me just about anywhere I need to visit... including pirate bay for all my content.
  14. I've read posts that there isn't a great deal of entertainment down here in HY but none the less, if there is a happy ending, that might be nice. I'm in the Solis Beach hotel next week for two nights but staying by central mall in HY for a month. I did find a couple of 'gay bars' in google maps around Lee Gardens which I strolled by and was offered a LB show. I don't use the Line app but what from I've read that may be an advantage but from what I understand about the app, you have to add someone to it, rather that find some one. I do have grindr but it's not a very nice app. A boy 1 mile away told me last night that there is a happy ending here, but neglected to tell me where to find it...
  15. I'm down in Hat Yai in a high rise. On the 27th floor I suddenly felt dizzy, looked at my window and saw we were swaying for around 3 minutes. It wasn't until an hour or so later and saw news feeds of what had happened, then it made sense.
  16. Stupid me, I probably should have posted this in Thailand and not the beer bar. Sorry about that
  17. I shall be staying in Hat Yai for April. I'm not particularly looking for any adult entertainment but if there's a bar where one can have a nice evening and laugh with ease & humour, that would be nice. I'm aware there's not very much to entertain a gay audience in HT but that is not my focus so I don't mind, that said. if you have knowledge I would be foolish not to educate myself. I've rented an apartment to 'live' (slap bang in the center) and plan on taking it easy, mostly sat at a laptop colour gradding video, it's what I do to keep me busy. That said, I need exercise, outdoor time, walks, but nothing mad, I'm not backpacking and jogging and pushing myself to go far and wide. If you have any top tips, places to not miss, places to avoid like the plague, I would be happy to read your thoughts. I left the UK end of last Sept and have been in Penang for 90 days with family friends, Patong for a couple of weeks in December and currently back in Bukit Mertajam with another 90 days. I'm also going to investigate the O visa while I'm in HY. I'm well aware of all of the circumstances/pitfalls/worries that accompany the O visa. I've been planning my trip a couple of years I want to go up to the Chalathat beach area and stay a few days, for the beach, so if you have any thoughts on best way to travel, a hotel or any other advice for that part of my visit, again, thanks for taking the time. Mike
  18. Oh Dear, the joy of being an old fossil...might be time to get my reading glasses checked... My apologies for getting that wrong, I can't go back and edit now so.... THANK YOU WESTERNGUY. Your suggestion has proved a perfect solution for more than one aspect of our internet lives here in Penang. We are both very happy now thanks to Proton VPN. Thanks also to khaolakguy for pointing out my shortcomings. cheers .
  19. A couple of hours later...... Both S24 phones now have proton vpn running and we can go places we never could before. Connecting via australia is a novelty. Got proton windows app on both laptops now, windows 11 pro and windows 11 home The 11 home laptop took some setting up with qbitorrent but that's working well now. Port Forwarding is something I know about but never had to use before, but that's all sorted with a bit of help from google and YT, as is telling qbit torrent to use proton as the network interface. The 11 pro laptop is now letting me listen to a radio station I was otherwise unable to hear since I came to Penang. Been able to check my messages at boyfriend tv at last and log in to a few other 'banned' websites I was used to when in the UK. All in all a very sucsessful morning, the only downside is I am having to tether thro' the A15 phone (unlimited data) I am only getting two bars signal on the phone due to the massive concrete building we live in and the phone mast being behind the flat we are in, so signal strength is pretty rubbish but I did manage to download a 500mb flac file in around 25 minutes, so it's not quite as bad as dial up. Without doubt I will be buying a yearly sub to proton vpn.
  20. update Thanks to vinapu I've just subscribed for one month (to see how it goes) to proton vpn for the princely sum of £9 and grindr is now working as it should. This also means I can carry on downloading torrents and log in to chaturbate on the laptop again so double bonus there! We had been considering using a vpn but as yet hadn't got round to it. I can now spend the entire day learning how to get the best out of it on 2 phones and the laptop. Once I'm happy with it with it then I'll go for an annual sub. On a side note, we won't be subbing to grindr, that bit in the email to tech support was just there to try and drum up some f***ing help. The free version of that will suffice for our needs as we're not proper whores, we just like to know who's nearby out of morbid curiosity... Many Thanks vinapu.
  21. Thanks for that. I opened a Proton account to create the grindr account and among other things I was offered a vpn with the service so I will look in to giving that a a go. Grindr is certainly not my ideal choice but it seems to be very popular out here if you can sort the wheat from the chaff of messages that get sent. Hornet is much better in terms of useability and not throwing adverts at you every 4 fucking seconds.
  22. Adding to this, hubby could not create a grindr account in malaysia on his S24 so he made one while in thailand, now he is back in penang, the app works for him but like me, no images at all in the app on our S24 phones or the A15 phone in malaysia. Both S24 still on Hotlink, A15 on U mobile. No images on any of the phones but logging in without issue.
  23. As far as I am aware grindr is not banned in Malaysia, I have seen others here using it without any problem. (without knowing thier service provider) Let me explain and see if you can help. We are currently in Penang. Hubby and I have 3 phones. 2 samsung galaxy S24 Ultra which we both use day to day. Service provided by Hotlink on both S24 phones. Our phones are updated at every opportunity, we know how to stay updated with our software. All of our phone apps are all updated very regularly 1 Samsung A15 which is our spare phone. Service provided by U mobile All prepaid, unlimited data month to month. We don't have any wifi or home internet, only phone data. We tried to sign up to grindr on the S24 phones and it always failed on the sign up page where you would enter your DOB I managed to create an account on the A15 in Malaysia using U mobile with out problem, but no thumbnails would appear and no images other than my profile photo. Other than that, grindr worked on the A15 phone. We went up to Thailand for Christmas and used AIS and everything worked perfectly on the S24 phones as you would expect. (we didn't take the A15 with us) Now we are back in Malaysia and both S24 phones can log in to grindr but again, no images at all, thumbs, profile pics nothing. We're getting messages and again, no images, so hotlink will let the grindr app run, just no images. We are a couple of old fossils with little phone tech knowledge with these apps but it would be nice to see who we're talking to if we're going to make some friends. I should also point out I am using the very gay Hornet app on my S24 and that works just fine, images all appearing as they should. I can see bums and cocks! I should also mention both S24 phones can log in to boyfriendtv website and we can watch gay porn with no problem at all using hotlink as the provider. If you have any advice we would be most grateful to hear form you in paragraphs that a 5yo can understand. Is this down to a phone setting? A security setting or a provider issue? I have emailed grindr support from the email account I created my grindr account with, on the A15, and android support at Grindr and apart from the fact a reply took over 12 days, the reply was are you using a vpn (no) send us a screen shot of the problem, re install the app, update the app, update your phone, and let us know if we can help. I mean really Sh*t tech support and we did explain in the email that if we could get it working on our S24 we would buy an annual subscription.... Many Thanks, Mike & Tris.
  24. We are in Patong for three weeks. Day 7 in a reasonably nice hotel on Soi Rat a few minutes from the beach. We move to another hotel south of here for NYE We've partied a bit hard, too many late nights, missed the hotel breakfasts. oh well never mind. We fell in to the trap of sitting on the balcony after a couple of visits to the 'green leaf' store nearby. That means we don't wake up until well past noon. We've done Paradise complex and had some drinks with the boys given plenty of tips for kindness and made friends there. xmas eve we'll go for a paddle (living dangerously) xmas day we might even go in for a swim... We're happy to be here and not wondering what luxury to buy from Tesco for christmas dinner with my clubcard points.
