At 117, they always quote me R$300 for some reason. Ok I barely speak Portuguese and if I do, there's clearly an American accent. I do haggle for that R$150 price but the lowest I could get them to go is R$200. Honestly I'm ok with paying R$300 if I had a great time with them before. but if it's my first time with that GP, I usually play the haggle game for a few minutes.  One of them finally did agree to R$150 when they saw me 1.5 hours later but I was already done and had my fun with another GP so I politely declined. I think it's all about timing.
Afterwards if I genuinely liked their company, I usually treat them to a drink and snacks at the cafe in 117. 
 

I'm curious how he became a garoto. Let us know what you think of it. Ages ago I read this book called memoirs of a hoebag about a gay man in NYC talking about all his hookups while he was in his 20s.

Just sharing my experience. I used the official brazil.vfsevisa.com site. I took a selfie of myself using my iPhone and then uploaded it to the site... then used the site's photo tool to fix it (make the background white and place my head and shoulders to the center. I had issues uploading the bio page of my passport. I scanned it to my laptop and then uploaded it but it wouldn't accept it. Size was 1.9MB. From reading on reddit, some people stated to make the size less than 600KB. I changed the size to roughly 550KB and miraculously the Brazil evisa site accepted my passport bio page! 
Two business days later, I received an email accepting the eVisa application and instructions on printing out 2 copies to bring with me to Brazil.
Note I didn't submit any bank account information and my visa application was still accepted. 
Total price was $80.90. If your eVisa cost more, then most likely you're using a visa service with an added fee. 
Overall I'm ok with this since I recall back in 2011 I had to physically go to the Brazil consulate in NYC to submit my paper application for a 10-year multientry tourist visa costing me around $250. It was for Rio Olympic games in 2016 when Brazil stopped requiring visas to US passport holders.

Never, ever, under any circumstances, go to the residence of a GP that you do not know well. 

Although your experience with that particular man was perhaps traumatic to you, I think you'd be able to return to Mother Brazil; my advice is to be discreet and cautious.  In terms of bf experience, that's another story.
I traveled to Brazil (all over) on 12 occasions pre COVID and only had safe and very pleasant and memorable times.

I am not sure whether is fair to target the Asian clientes as "da" overpowers. In my last visit, a former regular was trying to get a German guy to have a program with him again. On the previous night, he had paid him 700 reais for a regular programa. So it is not only the Asians. And I bet you there are US and Canadian clients who also are extra generous.

Brazil is still on my list, but that whole sauna thing still seems very intimidating. I've been in my younger years but even then felt very uncomfortable. I'd prefer a place like Industry in Medellín, the host bars in Pattaya, the Cabaret Tito's in Mexico City. As I did the settings in former eastern European countries like Casablanca in Bucharest or Pinocchio in Prague. 
But yes, time to step out of my comfort-zone and give those saunas a try. Next year I'll be making plans and will surely come back too all of you for the latest info and tips... when I have bought a ticket.

Life is too short--so many men so little time!--lets not waste it tearing each other apart. No doubt, there is some prose that is, um...baroque, but sometimes I enjoy it, and in any case, you are always free to skip those posts.
I have found prices to really be on a tear the last year or 2, more so in SP online than in the sauna or in RIo. In July a guy who really appeared to be "my type", without the usual compromise (usually as to the face) quoted 700. I invited him over, I opened the door and my reaction was, WOW! He was 6'4" great body and beautiful face. Yet with just a regular guy personality...he didn't shirk on the kissing, or indeed the fucking (it wasnt the best fuck ever, I wouldnt be surprised if in his private life he was a bottom, but still quite a good one, he finally bred me without the haggling some do, and just very nice) Nor did he jump up to take a shower and leave afterwards. In fact, I tipped him up to 800, because he really had exceeding my (already high) expectations
I contacted him again to meet the day I was leaving, he cagily asked to meet at his place rather than mine (we later laughed when I suggested it was because he didn't like my Airbnb and he admitted it was true) He had a little more trouble getting hard that day, but still, to look up at that beautiful man on top of me was really a nice experience. I teased him about how on my next trip I was going to insist he grew out his chest hair, and he seemed open to it. So yeah, I would say he was expensive...without being overpriced.
