The absolute sheer brilliance and outstanding track record for Thai Gov't apps and websites should never be discounted. They have a special place in history. I am sure this one will be no different.

I Am Being Serious - What's God Got To Do With It?
TotallyOz replied to PeterRS's topic in The Beer Bar
I have met quite a few people from their and yes, they are religious. Some of my best friends are from Taiwan. I seem to know a large number of Christians from there. Perhaps it's because they're all from the same group. They have been in Thailand for ages and are business people. There's also an equal number of that or Buddhist. But the Buddhist are also quite religious. I was surprised at the number of Christians in any Asian culture. I don't know anything about China. But, I know the desire from the American religions has been to convert all the Buddhist to Christianity. Actually, I grew up in a church that have set missionaries to Thailand for a generation or more. I think I've told the story before I have been in my freshman year of college and this freshman from Thailand came over to me and hugged me and said how glad he was to see me. His father was a missionary I am training who came from my hometown in Alabama. He only stayed with us in Alabama for one year. Not even with me, but with my church. I was in fourth grade. This lad remembered me from fourth grade he was now in America to study, missionary. I am still friends with him. His son is a missionary. His grandson is also a missionary. I just think the number of people that I know from Taiwan has been quite heavy I in Christianity. -
I Am Being Serious - What's God Got To Do With It?

Growing up very religious, I can understand the need of a desire to praise God. I use to thank him for every good grade I made, every college I got into, and every good person I met in my life. I'm not religious today. However, I still pray every night. I had surgery this week and I prayed 100 times before I went under. It is just a part of who I am. Like Lin, I thought I would be a missionary when I finished college. That wasn't in the cards for me. I think that if back then the church had been more open about homosexuality, then it probably would've been more of a possibility. However, knowing that most of the church hated me, stopped me from having any desire to participate in any organized religion. I grew away from all of that years ago. I have many Taiwanese friends. Most are fairly religious. I did not realize that their Country had so many religious people until I started hanging out with them. I do wonder what brings that on. I wonder if living on an island that is in constant fear I have been attacked from the big bad wolf makes them more religious. It's kind a like my surgery. I was really good and prayers this week. Well, porn and prayers. I guess the two don't go together. Unless you have seen the Mormon videos. They are quite fabulous. There are quite a few of them that I really enjoyed. I often do wonder if the older I get the more religious I will become. My mother was not religious at all. I think she gave up on religion when they told her that she would go to hell if she did not get a divorce from her third husband and marry her second husband who was abusive. She never went to church. She got cancer in her early 50s. All of my family wanted her to get baptized and go to heaven. That's what they believed. She did not want that at all. On her deathbed, they were begging her to get baptized. She declined. She lead a good life. She was not interested in a quick fix at the end of it. I always love that about her. I was also very saddened that my aunts and uncles we're so intent I'm trying to change her at the very end with a guilt complex -
What 3 Words would you say to your 18 year old self?
TotallyOz replied to TotallyOz's topic in The Beer Bar
@Ruthrieston thank you so much for that amazing post. It was beautifully written. I appreciate such honesty and sharing. It helps me to learn more about you and your life. Truly fascinating. I definitely think you should write a book about your experiences. I would buy the first copy. Thank you for being a part of this community. -
Admittedly, I do sometimes get frustrated with the Thai government and its decisions. However, it is an amazing place to live. I love it here. That said, I have been living here full-time for six years. I have been living at least six months a year here for almost 20 years. I think it is time to find a new home base. I'm getting old I would just like some new experiences. I have been around the world and some of my Favorite cities are either in Brazil, Argentina, Spain, and Paris. Notice I didn't say France. I just love Paris. Probably my favorite city on earth. Bangkok has always been a very close second. I think most of you know that the long-term boyfriend and I broke up about two or three years ago. That was about the time I should have moved. It may be time now. We are still best friends. Actually, he's helping me out for four months as I just got out of surgery. But, he is not a long-term anything at this point. I don't know that I need a long-term anything. It is nice. It is fine. But, the older I get the last time I say all I need to be with someone all the time. I love having access to nice apartments, Fast Internet, and easy to access goods from the USA. I'm pretty flexible. I almost moved to Amsterdam many years ago when my friend Hooboy died. He had a two bedroom apartment right at the corner of two canals. I was going to rent the apartment and let his boyfriend stay there. However, the landlords back down of renting in the place. The reason for that is they would get more money from the estate. I always wish that apartment had come through. I think I would be there till today. I still visit there on a regular basis ant it would be easily live there as well. But, I do like hot weather. Maybe that's why Brazil is attractive to me. There are many places in Brazil and Argentina and Spain that I could live in. Barcelona as always one of my favorite destinations. Rio de Janeiro is a place that I absolutely love. However, I find myself going crazy there by spending too much money I am boys, parties, and saunas. I did that years ago with Thailand but I have learned to calm down my need to party. I think that Rio de Janeiro would probably be a good place. No decision has been made yet. I just had hey surgery in Thailand I love the medical care I receive here. It is safe, affordable, and amazingly reliable. The boyfriend from before is going to help me with some things that I will be unable to do for a while.

I am considering a new home base. I am pretty flexible but looking for a good gay nightlife at times and the ease of hooking up. But, more important is the availability of Western amenities. I have been to all three countries many times but never for more than 2 months. Any suggestions?

Come out NOW! I wish I had it in me to come out early. The Bible Belt was not easy in the 1980s but there were openly gay men. It took me another 10 plus years before I came out and I regretted it ever since.

Thank you! I didn't consider myself a youngster until your message. I am an avid Snapper and TikTok'r. I spend hours on them each day and my videos are view by thousands. jk I don't fucking understand either one of them. But, I did like the thought of being young again. My current boyfriend does both of those daily and loves it. I just don't get it. Perhaps I never will.

Facebook and it apps are all down for me. What is the world to do? Inner self: Read a book moron Great idea!

I am curious if anyone does it. It seems easy enough but I have not tried it. I often do the online but it can be hit or miss.

I have not seen those in Thailand. Are they?

I am not sure if everyone has experienced this, but I tested myself for the first time today and it was much less painful than I expected. I have had these tests done with doctors and nurses before but never administered one on my own. I used the one from Roche. It has 5 tests in the kit so that should last me for a time. It cost about 1000 baht but that is about 200 baht per test. I was surprised at how easy it was.

Yeah, the second episode took me for a surprise. Still, the amazing visuals are incredible. -
If I read the reviews first, I would not have watched the first episode. But, I didn't. And, I enjoyed it thoroughly. The cinematography was amazing and I loved all the visuals. The acting was good and it was just pretty to watch. Sure, there are some plot issues. But, watching this on a 80 inch screen was just stunning. I really enjoyed it and will keep watching. Plus, I love the hottie Alfred Enoch and watch everything he is in.

Loved it. Love the butterfly earrings, and the butterflies all throughput the scene. Love is like a butterfly!

I thought the same until @Latbear4blk hooked me onto a few guys with amazing great quality videos. Totally worth it! -

I never found it a dump. I found the rooms small if you have a basic room. But, the service was good, the food was good, and the convenience was excellent. I used to stay at the Intercontinental but that has closed and that only leaves me a few choices in Rio for points and miles. The JW is one of them.

Where is Rio? Rigged poll! I love Stockholm. I have visited all the cities and like them all. I could live in many but bored in a few.

The friend that introduced me to this place 10 years ago passed away earlier this year. He was perhaps the most amazing man I have met on my travels over the last 30 years. I adored him and miss him immensely. It wasn't until I just looked at the street map of this place from 10 years back that the memories flooded. I remember telling him I didn't really want to go out of the Silom area and he wanted me to try, so I did. I have been hooked ever since. He and I have hundreds of lunches at Salt and Pepper in Pattaya and several great trips to Bangkok and beyond.

The place is now moved and I still love it. It is: Bourbon Street Restaurant 9/39-40 Soi Tana Arcade Sukhumvit 63 Ekkamai Klongton Nua Wattana Bangkok 10110 Thailand I have posted about it many times. Today is their 35th anniversary and I went there as it was 35% off food and they gave us a free glass mug to celebrate. Truly one of my favorite places in Bangkok. I order delivery from there weekly and love their Southern biscuits.
