I do realize that hard feelings exist over the contest. It turned into a mess. We tried our best to come up with a solution that would work for all and it had the opposite effect. Not much we can do about it now other than to apologize and move forward. I am not sure what heavy handed tactics you are referring to when you state that we made posts invisible that were critical of the board or of GT. Please give me some examples. It is common with most message boards that a handful of posters make the majority of the posts. Gaybutton was the most active poster on this board for years and he is now concentrating on his own board. We wish him well and have only nice things to say about his board. I have tested this on 5 different browsers and I didn't have to log in to see the posts on any of them. I can not seem to replicate your issue. I suggest you clear your cache on your browser and try again. Or, try another browser and see if you get the same results. The board is totally open for anyone to view regardless of being logged in or not logged in. It would be crazy to have it any other way. If that is happening, it is not our intent. However, I feel this may be an individual issue with your browser.

I do not quite understand how we have failed. Perhaps you can give some specific examples? The site is getting new members every day. Our Facebook ads were a success. Our Alexa and Google rankings keep going up. We just updated the entire forum software without any downtime. We are disappointed with the lack of posts on the forum but we are happy with the direction of the site. We are here for a long time and will keep working hard to make the site a success.

I guess you are right. I am not sure how much it says about humanity but perhaps a great deal of those trained for war. I have family in the military and I respect what they do for this country. I wish there was more training and supervision of our troops in times of war. And, we weren't meant to be in war this long. I blame this on our leaders.

I was at a many hotels recently and in a few of them I noticed the date on the HoHo's were out of date. I wasn't happy about that and I didn't eat them. Same thing happened to me today and I was tired of this so I went to the front desk. I said: Hey, look, I am a paying customer in your fine hotel and I want my fucking HoHo's. Seriously, I just asked why all the snacks that are perishable are out dated (some of the others you could see the dates). She said that some of the delivery companies do this on purpose. They take the old ones and put behind some new ones and hope people don't notice. They will then take the ones they swapped out and sell them. It adds money to the deliver man's pocket. She told me this and I had never heard this before. She said that they have complained to the company so much that one letter from me and they would switch vendors. Has anyone heard of shit like this happening? I mean, seriously, who messes with your hoho's?

Does this kid have any emotion at all? Is he void of caring for anyone? Using the term whacks over and over, I wonder where he grew up and with whom did he live? Sad commentary on our country.

It is interesting that Forster's retreat into imagination is such a part of many of us who are gay. I remember my imagination carrying me through some very dark days in my youth and were it not for my dreams, my writing, my poetry, I am not sure how I would have survived those years. I think this escape into the arts is part of what has drawn me to so many of my lifelong friends as they were in the same world I was in at one point or another.

I think the politics forum is important and I enjoy reading it. I don't often participate there as I feel some of my opinions may cause problems as I am way far left of most people here.

It is now almost like an anniversary present. The people over there think I am insane for believing his BS. But, it is the great presentation of the BS that I reward.

I always gave the max to Hillary and Bill. Call me a sucker but I did love them both. Now, because of this, I get tons of e-mails from Bill asking for help with races in states that I don't even live in. While I do give them an A for effort, the constant requests do make me give less and less to them and others in their party. I have given most recently to the ACLU, my undergraduate college (done every year for 20 year), charities in Thailand and local gay groups that I think can make an impact. I prefer my donation money go to gay groups rather than groups that aren't associated with the gay community. I also hate to be asked by cashiers to give and I always politely say NO. When I was living in NYC, I preferred to give my time by volunteering at a local kitchen that prepared food for shut ins with HIV.

Well, all this drama caused me to go over there and read the posts and threads. Lucky, I think you took TY's comments too far. They were not meant in the way you assume they were. At least that is not the way I read them. I feel bad that Daddy has his house foreclosed on. I have had this happen to friends and it is a horrible situation. I would not wish it on anyone. I will say that months ago, I did make an offer to him that would have stopped the foreclosure. If the house were his primary concern, the issue could have been resolved. However, his main concern is the site. And, I respect that direction a great deal. That being said, when you make those kind of decisions or choices, you can't expect others to feel sorry for you. I read this post for the first time today and my reaction to it was he was not wanting others to pity him or feel sorry for him. He seems to have accepted the consequences of his decisions and has moved on. He also thanked those that tried to help him via the donation to daddy thing. As for Noah. I read all that too. I will say I am disappointed that he kept the money and didn't return it immediately. He said he was trying to get in touch with the guy. Well, it is always easy to return money the same way you got it. That should not have been hard to do at all. Noah is very sexy and I would still hire him. And, yes, he is still on my list of guys I want to see. I would never pay him or anyone else in advance. I think that is nuts and anyone that does it is not thinking straight. I have also been clear over the years that I have a great deal of fondness for Noah's friend Ben. I think Ben is a world class escort and probably a great role model for Noah. But, Noah is young and he can easily repair this situation and his reputation. We all have done stupid things in the past and not known how to get out of them. Noah is young. He will survive this. If he continues to escort, he will learn a great deal from this experience (if he is smart). We can't ask much more from him than to rectify the situation, apologize and move forward. For clients, we can't ask much more than to never pay a fee in advance. I can't imagine anyone reading this message would do such a thing. I would not. However, if I were finally able to get Mike Stefano out of retirement for a weekend, I'll most likely pay in advance. So, even the wisest of us do stupid things from time to time.

I have attached an image to help illustrate. Also, a photo for your profile and an avatar are 2 different things. They can be the same image but they don't have to be. A photo on your profile is the image that appears when someone goes to view your profile. An avatar is the photo that appears in the forum when you make a post. To change either, first be sure you are logged into the site and you see your name on the right hand side. 1. Click on your name to get the drop down box. When you get that box, Click Settings. 2. When you are in settings, go to Profile. 3. There are several options that appear and 2 of them are Change Photo and Change Avatar. You click on of those to add or change the photo or the avatar. 4. You then use the browse button to pick an image from your computer. A photo can be no bigger than 150 x 150 pixels. An avatar can be no more than 90 x 90 pixels. Once you upload them and save, you are set. If you have trouble with the size of the image you want, send it to me and I'll help you.
