I made it close to Bangkok on the bike ride and I have a free day tomorrow so I went into Bangkok tonight. To say it was a sad situation is an understatement. Siam Boys is now closed for 2 days as it could not pay rent. Boys Bangkok was sad and I had a water and the waiter was so busy he didn't even open it for me (I was the ONLY customer at the time). Classic had 10 boys. Future was slower than ever. The Fresh boys has a few boys there but not a good selection. I have not had sex in what seems like years and I went looking and went to 7 bars that all cost over 220 baht to 250 baht for a glass of water. I did not find one boy I wanted for a drink. On top of that, the selection was the absolute worst I have ever seen in Bangkok. I got so horny, I had to fly a boy in from Laos. Where did all the boys go? Are they coming back? What work are they doing? Are they surviving?

Sometimes I do really crazy things. My first boyfriend in Thailand, I showered him with so much love, attention and money that his family thinks I am related to the Sultan of Brunei. jk Well, I love adventures and I love Thailand so I decided that I would try to combine my love for the 2 things in a cross country trip across Thailand. That sounds great until I say that I'll be doing this on a bicycle. Yep, that is right. A bicycle. Not a motorcycle but a bicycle. I love riding bikes and I have rode the San Francisco to Los Angeles Lifecycle ride. It was a major challenge for me but I really enjoyed it. I have wanted to spend time getting to know the people of Thailand better and to see it the way only someone who visited the back-roads and countryside are able to know it. Tomorrow, I start this adventure. It is a bike ride from Chiang Mai Thailand to Phuket. It will take about 30 days for us to do the ride. There are about 15 others that will do the entire ride. I am not sure I'll make it 3 days or one week or the entire trip but I am willing to put my best foot forward and give it a try. My mother always said, nothing ventured is nothing gained. I am putting a lot of time, energy and heart into this trip. I have planned for it for months. I have bought a bike that will accommodate my large ass (as much as possible). I have worked to try to prepare for the ride. Now, it is time to get on the bike and ride in Thai traffic. I came to Chiang Mai about 5 days ago to test the bike and the roads. To be honest, I only rode for about one hour in the traffic here and the motorcycles buzzing by me, the tut tuts zooming in and out and the people walking in front of me, really put a scare into me. I wasn't sure this is something I would be able to do. I did not get back on my bike while in Chiang Mai and I am hoping that my trip will be away from the traffic in cities and more in the countryside. However, I don't know this will be the result. I'll only know this once I start riding. I'll only know if I am rugged enough to stay at the motels and hotels they have chosen for our group once I get going. I know no one on the ride and I know no city we are staying in. All I know is that I want to give this a shot. If I make it out of Chiang Mai alive, I'll consider my trip a success. If I have to stop along the way and be whisked away to the Marriott, I'll know I gave it a try. All I can do is try and see where it goes. I will not be hurt or sad if I don't make it the whole way. Hell, I'll be happy if I make it up the first mountain to be honest. Tonight I met the other travelers. They are a motley group. A few hippies, a few young environmentalist, a few older father types and a entire group of excited people who hope to have the experience of a lifetime. We ate dinner at a local restaurant. It was very Thai and very good. We all chatted, drank beer and laughed. I had to pack and get ready so I said goodnight early and made way to my hotel. Tomorrow, we start. I believe this war has been a crime against humanity. I do not think we should have entered into it and do believe the American people will suffer for generations because of this horrendous act. How long will it take for the USA to get out of the ungodly war?

I love my IPhone and use it often. My favorite game on it is Twister. I find I can sit and wait for something for hours and play this game. I finally finished all the levels on it and am now Twister Master on the game. Any other recommendations for games?

I had the fortune to eat at this great restaurant for the first time since the move. They are on the road the leads to the beach from Pattaya. The restaurant is directly next door to Manhattan's. I have heard the food was excellent and wanted to give it a try. I ordered the tomato soup which was very good and I ordered the Salmon with vegetables. Both were very tasty, presented very beautifully and delightful to eat. The service was good and the waiters were always ready to help out. All in all a very enjoyable dining experience. The only thing I didn't like was the desert. I ordered the Creme Brulee. It was nothing special and although it was not bad, it was not worth the money they charged for it. My friend had the escargot, a soup, salad and steak. He had the cheesecake and enjoyed it. He said his meal was also very good. The cost for 2 was 2,000 baht. They did not include a service charge so we added it at the end. They are doing the street directly in front of the hotel and they have more work to do with it. That leaves the restaurant very little parking space out front. I am sure the owners were not expecting that when they put in such a nice facility. The restaurant was delightful, had beautiful flowers and nice decoration. The owner did drop by our table to be sure all was OK and it was. All in all, if you are looking for a nice place that is slightly more expensive than your typical Pattaya meal but done with a nice touch of class, give the Mata Hari a try. I really enjoyed it.

I spoke to a friend who has a Mac and uses Safari and he said he signs in and tries to post but it tells him he is not logged in. I test this on my computer and did not have the same issue. I had to be in Chiang Mai next week and wanted to come early to enjoy some of the guys here. So, I jumped into a van and had him drive me to Chiang Mai from Pattaya. There were no airports open and I was told the train was a pain so i just hired a van. He arrived on time at 8:30 AM and I got my things into the van and off we went. I tried to lay down and take a nap but he was all over the roads. He was going over 150. I grunted every time we hit a bump but he didn't get the message. So, I asked him nicely to slow down. He did until I closed my eyes and off he went again. We played this game for a long time until I gave up. Unfortunately, he had no seat belts in the back so I would have been thrown to Burma if we had an accident. Luckily, I made it here fine. My back aches from the up and down speed bumps and the road was not as good as I hoped. I did get to see some beautiful temples from the roadway but we didn't stop for any. We ate at a Big C on the way and low and behold I was walking in when the first boy I ever offed from a bar in Thailand said HI. He worked at future boys back then and now I guess he is retired. He was 29 back then and that was 5 years ago. He still looked great and it was so nice to see him. He was with his family and he introduced them to me. He spoke in Thai so I think he said, "this is the sucker who hired a van to drive from Pattaya to Chiang Mai" or something along those lines. Once inside the city, the driver had a hard time finding my hotel. It took over an hour once we were here as he kept stopping and talking to food cart vendors to get directions. At least that is what I think he was doing. I called the hotel on my phone and he spoke to the lady for directions. We did this 5 times before he found the hotel. It is one of the larger ones in the city so I am not sure why no one knew where it was or if it was just him that was lost over and over again. I bought him M150 a few times as that is what he requested when we stopped for a toilet break. Do you think they affected his mind so that he didn't know he was going too fast? 12 hours

Special thanks to TLP for being willing to help us with Moderation. He is a great guy and spends most of his time in Bangkok and the USA and Canada. I met with him when I was in Bangkok for dinner one night and had a great time. I have known him for a few years and though he rarely posts, he is always sending me PM's and e-mails about Thailand. Thanks for being will to help us TLP. This comes at a perfect time as I will be away from computers for about a month and I know GayButton and Stef can use the assistance.

I went to the new bar tonight. It used to be called TopMan. I will say the place had tons of boys and lots of movement. Not too many farang but I was early. The boys seemed to be having a good time and everyone was dancing and moving. I hope this place keeps going and is a tremendous success!

I just spoke to my Representative at Northwest Airline. They said they are issuing refunds and no change fees for anyone needing or wanting to change tickets that are booked up to Dec. 15. She also said that they were getting regular updates and that they are doing all kinds of rebates, exchanges, etc to make sure all passengers are accommodated. I needed to change my ticket and they did so with all fees waived. They have other incentive's as well and are trying to work with everyone.

I had a conversation today that got me to thinking. I said I doubted that the majority of guys traveling to LOS for sex will stop coming. They will keep going to the place they love. However, the country has tried to make families the cornerstone of the tourist industry. When asked today if I would bring my family over here in the next year or two, my answer was a resounding NO. No way would I risk them getting stuck over here or heaven forbid caught up in some other conflict. I would not recommend this for anyone with a family. What about you? I wanted to see the new vampire movie Twilight. I have seen it advertised and really wanted to see it and ended up at Siam Paragon for lunch yesterday. I decided to give it a try. The showing I wanted to see was at the Enigma theater at 1,000 baht a ticket. You must buy 2 in order to go. It is a members only theater with a lounge and private bathrooms. Included in the price of the ticket is appetizers and drinks. It really is a VIP treatment area. The seats are really day bed and are filled with plush pillows and blankets and it was very comfortable. I had been to the VIP theater before at Siam Paragon and they had the reclining seats that were fun and very comfortable. The Enigma is a step up for that! I loved the movie and the theater. I will defiantly go back again but not unless it is a movie I really can't see elsewhere. Siam Paragon theaters are supposed to be the largest that Thailand has with 16 screen and seats for over 5,000.

I am going on a bike trip next month and needed a bike and some shorts for the trip. I was able to buy the bike at Cannondale in Bangkok off of Sumkavit Soi 26. The owners there are amazing, customer service orientated and truly easy to deal with. I found my bike and they helped me to stock it with everything I needed except some clothing for the trip. I then went to ProBike off of Lumpini area and they had some of the things I needed. I ended up buying some things there yesterday but they did not have enough bike shorts for me. Does anyone know of other nice bike shops in Bangkok with a large selection of bicycle shorts and shirts? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I spent at least 10-15 minutes in every bar on Soi Twilight and they were all sad. Few customers and fewer boys. I am not sure if it is the current standoff or just a bad week but the bars are a sad example of what they could be. The prices are too high in EVERY bar. Future Boys was always my favorite. I had a great mamasan and manager I liked. Both are now gone and work across the street. They said that management tried to cut expenses 4 or 5 months ago and ran out all the high paying employees and replaced them with newbies with less experience. Sad as I use to spend a great deal of money there. I walked in and the place had a strong bad odor to it. I did find one guy I wanted to off but he was a waiter. He was not gay. I asked him if he wanted to go with me and he said yes. He said I could smoke him for 3,000 baht. I laughed. I told him I would take him and do massage only and tip him at least 500 bath or a massage and smoke for 1500 baht. He declined both and he was the only one in the place I found hot at all. The other 5 bars I went to last night there was nothing at all I liked. I was really looking for a toned muscle boy with a handsome face. It was not to be found. Admittedly, I have not been to Tawan or Jupiter but will give them a try tonight. After being screwed at Jupiter on more than one occasion I swore I would never return but desperate times lend for desperate measures and will give them a try tonight.

Moving on after a break up is often painful and sad. My long time boyfriend and I have had a falling out. It was over nothing major but it was a very hard thing to do. What I always do when this happens is to give the BF space and distance (and a nice chunk of change). I am in Bangkok so that he is able to settle back into his life without me. I not only lost the number 1 but also the number 2,3 and 4. Damm it was just a really bad week all around. I need a group hug. Well, OK, I did get one tonight in Bangkok but the doormen were hugging too hard and as they hugged, they tried to maneuver my ass into their perspective bars. What do you find is the easiest way for you and for him to move on and yet still be friends? I have yet to have a Thai boyfriend that I did not remain friends with long after the breakup. Is this common or unusual? I find that for me once I care for someone, I never stop caring. I am also able to move on pretty fast as I know what the relationship was build on. I did love my number 1 as we had a very long history together and while I can't rule out a return visit, I think it is best for him, and me, to move on in separate directions.

I hope all of you that celebrate the holiday had a wonderful time. I had one of the most amazing feasts imaginable. It was simply divine. Living part of the year in Thailand, I find I miss some of the holidays. I miss NYC and Halloween the most. I would have said I miss Thanksgiving second but this year the meal was just like my family has and it was a true joy. My favorite part of the meal is the Sweet Potato and Pecan mix. What is yours?
