Anyone know anything about Tour69 out of pattaya?

I use to like staying at the Regent in Silom. It is in the same soi as G.O.D. When I first found the place, it was remodeled and it seemed new. It was a great little basic place but it didn't have a safe in the room and the TV reception was spotty. You were also lucky if you got a room with a window. I liked the place. One thing that bothered me was that the cleaning staff often would not close the door so that the lock would engage. Many times I came back and only had to push my door open to enter my newly freshened room. I considered myself lucky that nothing was stolen. On other visits, I ran into the same trouble with my door not being pulled tight by the cleaning staff. Also things in the room were not working so well. The heater for the shower would not work or very low water pressure along with no hot water. On my last visit, and I do mean last visit, they put in a policy of charging for room guests that arrived after 7pm. You have access, but I would feel strange leaving the garden area with a towel and shower kit. Crossing the small parking area and going into the main building in the single elevator to the top floor and then searching the floors for shower action. Then when I find a hot guy, trying to get them to come with me to my garden room if we can't go to his room. It's easier to just stay at the barracks.

I don't know how it is in Thailand but Debit purchases and credit card purchases are looked at differently by the banks here in the USA. If I use my Bank Debit card as a Visa, that purchase is covered by Credit Card banking laws and also comes with Visa protections. If I use that same card as a debit card and enter my pin to make a purchase, I am at the mercy of the bank to protect me against fraud and I have to wait for their decision to refund my money for the fraud or to deny my fraud claim.

They also have the Garden Suites which are separate from the main baracks building. I stayed there once and loved the room but I hated being away from the baracks where all the fun was once the bars closed.

Also, If I am in Washington DC and want to buy a Metro Card, I just swipe the Visa Debit card and the machine will spit out the Metro Card. Often thieves will steal credit cards and buy many $50 metro cards with it and sell the cards for half price. I'm sure thieves now know that if they get lucky enough to get their hands on a credit card, they know to also try to get the zip code of the owner and hope that it works for the card.

I don't know if this is a new thing or not, but I just got my new Visa Bankcard from my bank here in the USA. Nothing is embossd on the card. Everything -- the credit card number and my name -- is printed on the card.. Another thing with my Citi and Chase Credit cards here in the USA. If I swipe my card for a purchase less than $25 USD, the charge often goes through without requiring my signature on the signature pad. I like the speed of the purchase but fear it will be easy for fraud to happen. The one good thing is that the laws in the USA only makes me liable for the first $50 of any credit card fraud and the banks often waive that $50. When my American Express was used to buy $4000 in car parts in Japan, I didn't care because I knew I would not have to pay a single penny of that theft. (I used my card at the airport in Tokyo and I assume that is where the card was either skimmed or photographed or something). In Thailand, I often read news articles where people are begging their bank to take responsibility for the fraud they had to endure. I don't know if the banks are under any obligation to do so.

We all have our ways of doing the same thing when it comes to offing staff from a bar. Some of us will establish how much money the guy wants for a tip before leaving the bar, and some of you have said you just pay the established rate try to stand your ground if more is requested. You have a point, I often forget about the beach aspect of pattaya. Sure I'm reminded of it when I'm looking right at it but it seems under appreciated and not fully taken advantage of. One thing for sure, the place has a lot of untapped potential.

I guess they would come to boyztown to walk past, take pictures and watch a show or two to be able to go home and exaggerate what they saw! I think that would be great. I'm surprised that no-one setup a tiki type of bar on the beach to serve the guys that want to be social but not rent a chair. They can just belly up to the bar and be served by the speedo wearing bartender and strike up a chat with others and then go back to his rented seat or so.... I often wonder why I don’t feel as if I am at the shore when I am in Pattaya. When I am at the shore in Atlantic City, Wildwood and Rehoboth Beach, you know you are at the shore and the shopkeepers try to cater to the tourists. Everyday seems to be the start of the party with the weekends pushing the fun over the top with the large crowds that seem to come from nowhere. I think I would enjoy the shore more here in the USA if the beach was run a lot like Thailand. I would love to find umbrellas and chairs rented where the staff also served food and drinks at competitive prices. In Pattaya, it would be nice to have a place along the beach, not far from the crowds where friends could drink, play games (Electronic or otherwise).eat and hottie watch. When the sun goes down that same spot could turn on the disco light, Serve drinks, have the staff perform a well practice dance and do the things that remind people they are on vacation. In the USA. I would love to see Massage people offering massages on the beach like it is done in Thailand. I would also love to have a vendor selling fresh cooked shell fish next to you as you lounge on the beach. My friends and family always ask me if I had shrimp cooked and served for me at the beach. I only had it one once and after all the flies I decided to never do it again! I would love to see more entertainment attractions along the beach. I think in every beach boardwalk in the USA there is some little amusement park area that has a haunted house and bumper cars. I would love to have that in Thailand. Something I can do with friends there that does not have to do with sex, eating, drinking or shopping. Maybe even put-put golf. In the USA, I want a Thai Style Walking Street. A wild street where anything goes or just gives the impression that anything could go. I also want Thai style Baht buses and Motorbike Taxi’s. I would love to see some change in Pattaya… But I don’t want to change Pattaya. I would hate to go there and feel like I am home in the USA. Yes I would love to see more general entertainment to draw fun crowds to the beach, but I would hate it if the feel of Pattaya resembled that of western culture. I want Pattaya to be Pattaya but just more beachie….
