Well they reopened Boracay, on a limited basis though, the hotels / resorts that came up to scratch were allowed a certain number of rooms each and all visitors now have to register on their arrival. Alas, what did they find after day one's reopening? Rubbish on the beaches, it seems that Boracay attracts a fair number of pigs as tourists, they even placed extra rubbish bins on the beaches but the pigs prefer to just drop their crap anywhere. Don't be surprised if it continues that Duterte will close it down again, unlikely but still an option if people don't improve their ways. I would say the locals would be mighty pissed off with the litter and those dropping it.

Your wish is my command. Just another piece of advice given to me many years ago, it was that if I ever moved to Thailand or the Philippines to retire it's best to keep my house here in Australia, that way if things don't work out in the chosen retirement country I would have something to return to.

Actually anddy, Richard still uses the shrunken version and hasn't had any problems with it when asked for his passport, he's been living there for quite some time now. I follow him on Facebook as he shares interesting photos and info

As stated above you most likely will not find an apartment / condo in central Bangkok (or anywhere in Bangkok) for that price range. You also need to be aware of the current problems with airbnb, they have lost two court cases that have ruled airbnb illegal on the grounds that it breeches the hotels act, this is mostly affecting the nightly / weekly rentals (the main rentals on airbnb) but they say monthly or longer are okay but for how long is anyones guess. I retired 3 years ago and have toyed with the idea of purchasing a condo but so far have resisted, most likely if I ever do decide to move to Thailand to live I might buy one. Check out the link below, it will give you a good idea of condos for sale and the prices https://www.hipflat.co.th/en Some advice given to me by a friend that has purchased there, if buying, always go through a reputable real estate agent and not be tempted to a purchase from a private seller as some people have been taken for a ride that way. Also it may pay to have a legal firm check everything out for you, just to be on the safe side. Oh a link about airbnb and whether it's legal or not. https://www.bangkokpost.com/news/general/1467442/airbnb-bookings-illegal-court-declares

I do remember before where the head of immigration said that a photo copy of ypur passport and of the visa is sufficient. I have a new scan and print of my relevant passport page before I go and when the hotel scan the passport I ask them if they can print me a copy of the visa. Some good advice here http://www.richardbarrow.com/2013/08/always-carry-your-passport-or-a-copy-while-in-thailand/

Yet you seem to be the one with the problem here but nice try troll, goodbye

Immigration and police have also been hitting Sukhumvit quite hard too, all to do with visa overstays from what I have been reading, government having a massive crackdown on overstays now.

From what I see paborn made a valid point and your response was to post shit like that and attack members of this board? Goes to show that maybe you are the one lacking intelligence. You don't half love yourself Terry, judging on what you just posted don't let the door hit your arse on the way out. Oh and by the way, the members of this board that I have had the pleasure of meeting are definitely not geriatrics and going by the conversations are all intelligent people. I for one will not miss ever seeing anything you post again. Haha here's a thought, why don't you use that vast intelligence of yours to start up your own board and just make it for the young and the like minded people that share your views?

Good news for me though, in planning for next years trip

Try either Raya on Surawong or the Tarntawan, neither of those hotels charge joiner fees
-
Think the one you may be thinking of is the Tawana formerly the Tawana Ramada which is opposite soi Tarntawan, the Siam Heritage is just along Surawong from the Tarntawan (in the direction of Patpong and same side)
-
I wonder if the op was referring to the one near BTS Chong Nonsi and not the one on Surawong rd? http://www.theheritagebangkok.com or this one maybe? http://theheritagesathorn.com

Took this of the Gay Thailand page, the right is what I class as a twink and the one on the left is close to perfect for me and the one on the left can pound me into the mattress any time and as many times as he wishes.
-
Twink to me is the skinny type that look late teens, my preference is swimmer or toned but not overly muscular.
-
On my last 2 trips I found the money exchange at Sala Daeng BTS consistently had the best rate around the Silom - Surawong area and as I either took the BTS nearly every day or I was near by I just changed there.
-
Better rates elsewhere

I have thought for some time now that if I were to go to Thailand for an extended period (I'm talking 3 months or longer here) I would go to the clinic and get tested and also get PrEP, not as a replacement but as an added layer of protection. I have never had the experience of bareback sex with another guy and may never unless I end up in a monogamous relationship and only then after the full testing regime has proven us both to be negative. In other words, no matter how they feel I will be using condoms for quite some time, even when I go with the girls. Happy to say that whenever it has come to anal sex the guys in Bangkok that I have been with have all asked if I brought condoms with me and at no stage has any of them even tried to get me to go bare. When with the guys there I bottom most of the time and only rarely top.

Nice to read about Phuket, had my first m 2 m sex down there and it was so good I'm hooked on it

Seriously doubt they will make the Oct 26th time, last I read just last week only 180 of the 2200 premises actually come up to grade, even my friend who lives there (over here on holidays at present) says it will take at least a year to complete but even that will be pushing it.

From their website, good to see they have a notification up, a lot of places in this world wouldn't. Hope it doesnt take too long.

G'day mate and welcome to the forum

1. I retired 3 years ago at 57 and have a comfortable living 2. Spending a fair amount of time getting my house and gardens sorted the way I want is my immediate concern 3. At the moment I travel to Thailand once a year just for a couple of weeks for a break but would love to at least double that in the near future 4. Would love to move to Thailand full time but the long term planning at present is to do 3 months Thailand, 6 months home and back to Thailand for 3 months. Not sure when or even if that will commence (a lotto win will speed it up
