What's the policy on joiners?

I'm a tarntawan guy so if will probably be hard to switch unless there is a vast savings difference.

I stopped staying at the Tarntawan because the Courtyard can be cheaper. The Tarntawan has the best location , but it needs a renovation really bad.

. The Tarntawan has the best location , but it needs a renovation really bad.

now I think Raya is a formidable competitor to Tartawan but what do I know about hotels?

I'll have to check Raya.

It was a long time ago. But I recall the bed being hard as a rock and the bathroom being very badly in need of updating. And there was no view of anything out the window.

I also found breakfast to be kind of depressing...not very good food and lots of old guys and their boy from last night sitting in awkward silence.

Tarntawan has seen better days. It is a dilemma for them as the less people stay there the more urgent restorations become with less revenue and inflation creeping in. I wish the owner the best he is a friendly enough guy and I always felt welcome there. I stopped staying there around five years ago. There would need to be a persuasive case to get me to go back again given similar options in this price range.

I stayed at tarntawan and thought it was great. No complaints. Except, I agree, pool would of been nice.

I don't think anybody is really saying the Tarntawan is bad. I have stayed there many times. I think their staff is 5 star.

But...their prices keep trickling up, with nothing in return, other than location.

The Courtyard has same and sometimes lower prices, but with pool, gym, full buffet breakfast, executive lounge. (Free booze)

Bright and colorful modern rooms. Tarntawan just needs a little colorful paint.

Raya is modern, better location, but no pool,or gym. I have a condo now, so not really an issue for me anymore.

But Bangkok has been going thru a big modernization over the last several years, but the Tarntawan hasn't.

Note...IF you booked a Senior Rate at this hotel....

Go back and look at new LOWER rates now on their website....

I was able to get rates in the 2,295 Thb range vs earlier bookings of 2,800+

Also suggest you use the flexible rate to find lowest rates for Seniors.

My favorite hotel in Bangkok...when rates this low.

Good luck

Tj

ps...The Courtyard in Pattaya now has rates as low as 1,421 Thb ...NOT a senior rate.

The senior rate is higher. Just use NO special rate.

From experience...

I do not assume the Senior rate is lower than others offered online...

Up til now...the Bangkok Courtyard Marriott Sr Rate was much higher.

Unfortunately senior rates have been part of my life for a few years now. But there are advantages. Boys ask how old I am. I tell them and they say you look so much younger :). I say no, I am old. Then they take over. I'll carry that, watch your step, hold my hand. Aww, they are so caring. Then when we get home for the fun stuff, they want to make sure my last days on earth are filled with lots of fun bed time.
