The Lure of Morlam

Featured Replies

When it comes to music, I stay with Mozart, Beethoven.

When it is about folk music and pop music, there are many good choices. Morlam music is totally new to me, and I don't think it will change my favorites, which I would not impose on anyone.

I like Silence the best

I also like silence. No need for background music.  When there is sound, it should be either music or speech, both to listen with concentration.  Otherwise it's best to listen to one's thoughts. :)

It seems to me that all styles of music evolve - even Mozart was considered an innovator by his contemporaries LOL

Morlam seems almost universally popular still in Thailand -it gets everyone dancing from grannies to teenagers - and they all seem to know the words to the more popular songs.

I have been to a big Morlam show in Pattaya - thousands there - its a huge colourful spectacle. I also regularly go to the little Morlam show, Zab, just in the entrance to Walking Street - I have never found a Thai companion of any gender who didn't have a good time there.

Yes.  Like Morlam music, even Mozart's music keeps evolving and has and ever had much popular appeal.

Here is an example of a bunch of gays in San Francisco listening to a popular song... from Mozart:

One slight difference is that while Morlam music makes happy many good Thais, Mozart's music seems to be from out of this world.

Aren't you off-topic posting a picture of yourself in a thread about Morlam, which means expert singing?

And all this to continue trolling my posts in your negative ways? Can't you enjoy good music in peace?

You're the only troll on this forum, Stevie, so it's gotta be you.
