Does anyone know if you can buy Prep Pills, over the counter in Pattaya  Pharmacy`s ?

But I got some PrEP (Truvada) last year from Pulse Clinic in Bangkok in Silom.  Their website is https://www.silompulse.com.

 

You have to get tested to see if you are negative first, before you can get the PrEP of course, because the medicine is not for HIV + folks.

I can buy it online in the UK perfectly legally it seems, without any pre testing, with the onus on you to make sure you are negative first.

Just seems strange that it is not more readily available, especially in Thailand ..lol

I get it directly from Bumrungrad as the doctor gave it to me.  It was very inexpensive even for a hospital.

Oh that point guys can I ask - have you experienced any negatives side effects wise or anything else from taking Prep ( either yet or at all perhaps ? )

Judging by the lack of reports, it looks as if Prep is not widely used, which seems strange ..

Side effects are said to be minimal , and the generic pills are cheap, so I wonder why they are not more freely available ..

I have had zero side effects.

I had read that no only do you need to be HIV Negative, it takes about 4 weeks to become "protected".

I that true?? Prep is also available here in the USA and many HIV Clinics.

It’s estimated that it takes at least seven days for PrEP to reach high levels of protection in the body. When used correctly, Truvada for PrEP provides 92%–99% reduction in HIV risk for HIV-negative individuals who take the pills every day as directed.

It seems that taking PrEP would be wise precaution for gays going to Thailand with a view to having sex with multiple boys. Although to dispensing with condoms (tempting for some)!would bring with it the substantial risk of the other sexually transmitted diseases.

For me prep would be the extra added precaution, condoms first and I do make sure I carry a few when going for massage and sex
