Absolute tool sprayed ‘Scousse Lee’ on 800-year-old fortress while backpacking

Ladies and gentlemen may we introduce the latest representative of the United Kingdom, doing us proud with his idiocy and illiteracy. Lee Furlong, who is from Liverpool, was backpacking in Thailand when, for some unknown reason, he and a fellow traveller decided to graffiti an 800-year-old Thai fortress.

A manhunt was launched for Lee and he was arrested with Brittney Schneider, from Canada, who was with him at the time at the Mad Monkey Hostel. They said that they found the spray can on the ground and decided to spray the wall as a ‘prank’. The pair of 23-year-olds were frog-marched to the site where they confessed to the crime and have been told they could face up to 10 years in prison for desecrating a historical site. Lieutenant Colonel Teerasak Sriprasert: ‘The graffiti says “Scousse Lee”. This means “Scouser Lee from Liverpool”. The girl is called Brittney and she wrote a letter “B” on the wall. ‘Officers investigated the vandalism after it was seen on CCTV cameras. The offenders were tracked to a guest house near the same road as the wall. The accused will be investigated and prosecuted according to the law.’ He could face 10 years in prison for his moment of stupidity (Picture: Viral Press) He added: ‘The accused were questioned and confessed that the incident happened earlier in the morning at 4am.’ In CCTV footage, Lee can be seen spraying Scousse before Brittney wrote B. Lee then finished his tag with ‘Lee’. The pair only stopped when a passing tuk-tuk driver intervened and told them off, at which point they left the spray can walked back to the hostel. Tha Phae gate is part of a crumbling wall was built in the 13th century as a fortress to protect the city of Chiang Mai. It is the centre of tourism in the bustling northern city popular with backpackers and is surrounded by bars, restaurants, hotels, markets, massage parlours and shops. The wall has been cleaned.

Well, The “girl Brittany” looks like lesbian to me.

I am glad police caught these idiots. Should stay in the jail for a while.

I recently watched “ Player Before Dawn” the movie portrays an English boxer incarcerated in Thailand's most notorious prison.

The prison condition shows Thailand is still the third world country after all.

And free on Amazon Prime - thanks!

Stupid thing to do, but prison is not an appropriate sentence. The wall was cleaned and, in the end, no lasting damage it seems.  A fine and possible deportation would be more than enough.

I disagree.    One of the reason why yobs behave like this is because there are no repercussions for their dreadful behaviour.

If the wall cleaned up, having them pay costs and spending about 3 months in a really shitty jail should be about right.

If the damage is permanent, then a longer term is required.

Canadian woman received $4000 fine, should have few month in Thai jail too. Just to learn.

Totally agree with z909. Thailand is mercifully free of graffiti perhaps because the penalties are heavy.

The tool can't even spell, and it defies logic that anyone from Liverpool could actually be proud of that.  :shok:
