The only part of town that's had gay gogo bars and host bars is Sunee.   I guess it had comfortably over 10 gogo bars when I first arrived.

Apparently, it's now 2 gogo bars, so they are now outnumbered by host bars.  Even though some of us prefer a good gogo bar to a good host bar, it seems the host bars are more than capable of competing against the gogo bars.

Of course, some gogo bars just haven't tried hard enough in recent years, which must have accelerated their demise.

As has been stated many times before, the boy bar scene has been in decline for many years .  Well before covid , I was often the only customer  at most of the boy gogo bars.  Only exception was

  • For years I've heard about those girly go-go bars.  And for years, try as I might, I've never been able to spot them.  Maybe I'm just blind or something, but do those bars actually exist or is it noth

  • I would love it if there were go-go bars in Jomtien complex. It already has much going for it - it's walking distance from the bus station (the cheap bus from Suvarnabhumi), plenty of good food around

There are only a few customers at the 4 host bars and a few at the 2 go go bars. There is  no competition between them, at all; wish there were! :(

I'm not quite understanding what you mean here.  As a customer, I can only drink in one bar at a time.   If one bar attracts more of my business, it's often at the expense of another.   That's competition.

If you're suggesting bars should compete harder to attract customers, I agree that some of them need to raise their game.

Kokopelli is correct.  There was no competition between the two Sunee Plaza

gogo bars.  Completely different customer base with some minor overlap

due to scarcity of options.

If the bars had similar boys, then you point would have well taken.

Happy Boys, Eros, Winner Boys, Euro Boys, Krazy Dragon, Nice Boys, Good Boys, Mic My, Power Boys, Wonderland

(OK, I know Mic My became Power Boys)
