Fruit

Featured Replies

I have been craving fruit the past few days. I cannot get enough bananas, watermelon, strawberries .... I wonder if I am pregnant :P

Do any of you guys ever go like cravings with specific foods?

Yes!! And my cravings are usually seedless grapes and oranges.

I do to, especially the good Costco cherries! But fruit is a lot of sugar and excess can cause setbacks, so I try to moderate myself. For a long time I did without, but a couple servings every day or two has been OK too.

Fruit is actually a good source of sugar compared to the white processed stuff. All in moderation.

I have been craving fruit for several months now too. Not sure why but I keep a container of mixed strawberries and blueberries in the fridge all the time, at least until the cherries stared coming in. Now blueberries and cherries. I also frequently drink pomegranate juice, mixed with diet 7-Up to cut the sugar intake. Lot's of benefits to these intensely colored dark and red fruits -- anti cancer, anti-hypertension, anti-inflammatory,... yada, yada, yada, ... They taste good too.

The craving might be satisfied by complex carbohydrates instead of the fructose. I have also recently discovered something great on my recent trip back to the USA. Low-fat frozen yogurt. Very satisfying and a quarter of the calories in Haagen-Dazs.
