August 17, 201214 yr Do you think that men in general think of sex so casually that they separate the act of sex from a relationship? Is that way there are many "open relationships"? When I first acknowledged my sexuality and began acting on it, in the 70's, the gay culture I was exposed to (and please note that qualifier) was all about sex and the bar culture. Most of the gay men I met were closeted, and that also was barrier to relationships, to an extent. Committed relationships were definitely the exception. I do think that men find it easier to separate sex from relationships & feelings than women are and I think it's likely that's wired into us biologically (not to say that we can't overcome that 'programming'.)
