I thought this might be a version of the "windy story" in England. An English gentleman is walking down the street and observes a young lass whose skirt is blown up by the wind revealing that she is not wearing undergarments. The English gentleman says, a bit airy, isn't it? In a strong cockney accent she replies, what the 'ell did you expect, feathers?

Amen, to your above. What difference does it make? I think we can all settle on 'communications' and maybe even 'conversation' if not in real time.
