Hong Kong is fairly difficult: society is still very conservative, family is super important and there are only a handful gay bars, none of which is truly impressive. Your best bet for encounters will be apps (Grindr, jack'd). That is not that different from rentmen in the US, lol. Seriously, I can’t tell about now, because I have been to HK for a long time, but when I was living there, I haven’t had more issues that in the US, they did look pretty much like their pictures, and they did what I asked them, and when I find a good one, I repeat with that one.
