April 30, 20188 yr Active Members Beyond Carnival: Male Homosexuality in 20th Century Brazil. This book looks interesting - curious if anyone has read it or has a pdf version of it to send. It has a lot of history of gay brazil hangouts in Rio in the 1960’s, Cinelandia, the history of saunas, a secret underground gay society called o snob in Rio etc. Some of it is available for free on google book preview.

May 1, 20188 yr Looks like a great historical read...I wish it had more recent years in the book, ie, 80s, 90s and 2000s.... If somebody has read it, please share your feedback...
May 1, 20188 yr Active Members Green's book lives in academia and is not packaged digitally. Here is his companion glossary and a few of the photos where Rio action took place. He also references a few other cities. Gays everywhere, after all.
