I just got these pictures from a local friend. According to a review on agoda site, i have been aware that there is some renovation work going on at Raya hotel, but it didnt sound like a major one.

now these pictures make me wonder if there is gonna be noise issue for the guests. 

i have sent emails to the hotel (one directly to the hotel and one through agoda) but so far no reply. 

has anyone stayed there recently?

I stay there on my nights 3-5 and did not have problem with noise. They are working during day when you supposed to behave and not stay in your room. 

Only inconvenience is first going up to check in - somebody should be there with card to start service elevator in the back as main one is not in operation. After check in you get your own card. 

In short, don't worry, be happy. 

So what is happening to the "Bubble Wrap" facade??

By the way, looks that renovation at Raya is almost completed so it may not be an issue at all. 

Passed by this morning but did not have a phone on me so didn't take a pics. 

Bubble wrap facade is no more

Too bad about the Facade. At least it made the Raya stand out along Suriwong Rd...

I don, t know about hi so but cartainly is not ugly and rather adds to the street appearance in my oppinion
