Anyone familiar with the term "morbo"?

Featured Replies

Hi All,

During my recent two weeks in Cartagena, I came across this term on Grindr. It was mentioned by some guys, who explained that it means sex without penetrations / anal activity.

It seems some use the term casually - expecting everyone to understand, while others have never heard of it.

So, anyone familiar with it?

Does it represent a somewhat wide phenomena (in colombia?) of guys enjoying sex sin anal?

It means "kink". Stuff that isn't the usual oral/anal penetration. It is a catch all term in Colombian Spanish for fetish -- you need to inquire what is the specific "morbo" that they are looking to enjoy. :) Hope that helps.

Yes, but also has a more loose meaning in all of South America. I do not know how to translate it, something like "lure", when you are very engaged and passionate. Like an uninhibited additional energy in even the most basic interactions, like just kissing. I can't explain.

See of it as 'foreplay' without going all the way afterwards. Playing, kissing, wanking. Sometimes een bj comes to mind. All but the actual fuck.

It is my understanding that your explanation is wrong.

I wouldn't argue that Latbear4blk, it's hard to pinpoint the meaning depending where you are I guess. This is how I experienced it in Colombia though. Surely its different in other South-American countries?

I am in Colombia now. I am confident to say that “morbo” may have local nuances, but a general meaning across SA countries. It means passion and engagement. It promises you that you will not find a passive, disengaged beauty you will have to worship and suck while he is watching porn. He will be into it and into you.
