July 6, 20224 yr Asiatique, the riverfront mall on the Chao Phraya, Is open. Took the free ferry from Saphan Thaksin pier Monday night and arrived in about 12 minutes. The giant Ferris wheel is operating and several of the larger restaurants closest to river were open. Many visitors appeared to be ASEAN tourists. Estimate that only about 10-15% of small shops are open but enjoyed a few hours wandering about and taking in the views from ferry trip.
July 6, 20224 yr I know many see Asiatique as a tourist trap but I quite like it there, once or twice a trip is about normal. Good to see it reopening.
July 6, 20224 yr I visited back in November, when they had a vaccination centre with walk in appointments. It was quite nice to walk around the waterfront area, but I was glad to visit when it was not full of tourists. This is also easily accessible from Silom on foot or by bus.
