Take the amazing train ride from Oslo to Bergen and then stay on the ferry right up past the Arctic Circle to basically the top of the civilised world if you wish. The only problem is that the cabins are very small. But I thoroughly enjoyed my four days November trip some years ago.
December 10, 20232 yr Author Many thanks @Marc in Calif. It's a very scenic part of the world especially at that time of year, despite clouds and occasional mist. I was unable to see the Northern Lights on the ferry due to low cloud in the evening. I had to wait until i got to the far north of Finland before getting some amazing photos.

I think I have many of these same photos 🙂 I did the Bergen to Flam ride on one of these local ferries - also in September about 5 years ago. Gorgeous scenery. I think it was about 5 or 6 hours. Then took the train from Flam to Oslo the next day.
December 12, 20232 yr Author I did a four-day trip from Bergen up past the Arctic Circle to the lovely town of Tromso. I had found a lovely little hotel in Tromso where in addition to all-day tea and coffee in the little lounge, they served pancake mix and various jams in the early evening. I'd never seen that before.
