What you never heard GB sing as Count Almaviva in Rossini's "The Barber of Seville"? It is a life changing experience and I would recommend that you talk him into performing it for you on your next trip to Pattaya. I never had the pleasure of meeting John Wayne, but his thick skinned, super macho movie personality is not what I call manly----quite the opposite. If you hurt my feelings I am going to politely tell you that. Keep it up and then I will try the John Wayne approach. However, that will always be my fall back position, not my first approach. I see nothing unmanly about expressing my true feeling to another, until they prove themselves incapable of feeling or understandeing the pain they may have caused. I don't know why, but I always believed that everybody tries their best, we all say things that are stupid, and none of us delibertly tries to hurt another we are engaging in a conversation. I have found few exceptions to the above, but I may have been lucky. What is your experience?

Personally, I prefer my performance as Leporello in Don Giovanni, but maybe I'll do Count Almaviva next time Pattaya Players recruits me for the role. There was a scene in "War Wagon" in which Kirk Douglas and John Wayne are ambushed by two gunslingers as they exit a bar. Of course, they both draw and shoot down the gunslingers simultaneously: Kirk Douglas, proudly: "Mine hit the ground first." John Wayne, thinks for a moment: "Mine was taller."
