March 24, 20251 yr Hi all. Each year I usually wish my Thai friends a happy Songkran, but now that my list of friends has grown to include boys from Cambodia and Myanmar, is it appropriate to send them Songkran greetings as well? I assume they may have their own separate celebrations?
March 24, 20251 yr A quick google says they do celebrate songkran but have different names. For cambodian, their new year is called chaul chnam thmey, and for myanmar the new year is called thingyan.
March 25, 20251 yr It will be appreciated and especially if you refer to the celebrations with their local name.
