MBs on Apps?

I’ve been talking to a few cute Thai guys on Hornet and a few other apps. Is there a polite way to ask if they’re a money boy to not offend? Or will they say so in their profile?

On Hornet you will often see either money symbols in their names or the letters MB.

Same on Grindr. MB or money symbols or they will disclose in the first couple of messages that they are MB or masseurs. They are on the apps for business, not for long chats. You could ask what they do for a living. If he has a regular job, I would assume that he is not a money boy.

My experience with apps is miniscule and with Grindr only but usually subject of compensation was raised by boy in the latest 2nd sentence , usually as" I'm MB' or " how much you give me ? ". Another indicator is profile saying " not for fun".

Rare occasions for a 60+ years old guy being hit by a youngster for a casual fun and it does happen but not often in a meat market like thailand. Any young guy enticing with sexy fotos after a few lines of message, I assumed and asked, the cost and the services offered. Getting to the point and no time waste. I met many guys from an applications "local and foreigner alike" offered an excellent services, young & beautiful and with reasonable cost.  Ocasionally, met a genuine guy "local" preferred a much older partner " all were well educated and a lot easier to communicate. Many cases, casual fun happened among tourists. Last trip, I met an ex MB, we had wonderful time and near the end of my trip, met a young Singaporean, wonderful person and well educated. His body was faultless, full with desire but lackluster. Lack of experience on kissing, sucking, fucking, rimming and anticipating. To concluded, MB with experiences is desirable with an expected outcome.

True. On the other hand, the MBs themselves didn't regard themselves as professionals, in the sense that guys at Blue Boy in Amsterdam and similar European places perhaps  did years ago. 

Maybe  things have changed drastically in the past couple of decades- admittedly possible with the advent of non-Thais - but the ones I knew tended to  be short-term  practitioners of their arts, there in Pattaya   to make money quickly and , if possible, meet the "right" falang partner. And if unsuccessful, to try something else or return to their Isaan farms.

Some were undoubtedly "professional" in the sense of being good at their job,  but I suspect that most would regard themselves as amateurs because their lives weren't defined by their current employment.

I should add that my interest and experience  was with twinks; I expect there were older guys around who had different views and aspirations.

I like your definition of professional. 

In my working life I was occasionally accused by my a clients  of being or acting  "unprofessional" to which I had handy answer  "Titanic was built by professionals",  which usually  diffused tense atmosphere. Although one particularly upset answered ' you sound as asshole' to which I confidently replied "I know " , we still are shaking hands when we meet on the street by chance.

As for older guys - and that is my favorite sector, they seem to understand better reason why they  were hired and that money comes from service rendered , not just charms of  youth.

1 As described, profile with MB, dollar signs etc.
2 Thai including รับงาน (accepting work) & variations of that, particularly abbreviations (Be careful. รับ=accepting, so when used alone, this indicates his sexual position, as far as I understand)
3  If you are visibly over 50, have a profile picture and he's still talking to you, there's a good chance he's a money boy. But not certain.  If in Pattaya, a very very good chance.

So I’ve been on Grindr a few times, using the travel feature to check out the guys in Pattaya. Granted I filter for the younger ones, but it doesn’t seem like there’s an abundance of local boys, and only a scant few I find really attractive. Does it vary a lot by time of day, or day of the week?

Grindr has been lame a lot of places, if you don't have a subscription, it's shit... too many ads.... Pattaya was blah when I was there for Grindr

I'm in Brasil and not seeing much interesting  either 🤷‍♂️

it varies by the time of day on Grindr .  I see that Grindr  peaks around start time at the massage shops - between 5pm to 6pm - and then fluctuates throughout the evening..

More importantly, it varies by the APP that you use.

Grindr is the most popular APP for tourists passing through the Pattaya / Jomtien area.

But, the NUMBER 1 - APP in my opinion, for us that live there - it is:    

Most Thais, Laos, and Cambodians - that is where they hang out.

In third place is the  APP - formerly BLUED.

Agree, Bangkok is a Capital for an Asian Gay. Due to the its culture, religion, accessibility, flexible law, and kindness, these make tourist "asian" feel safe and free to express their sexual orientation and or lifestyle. Russian, Ukraine, North African and Indian added more fun with endless choices.  Lot of young and successful Asian Gay move to Bangkok especially Chinese. Much older decent looking with decent shape, top and well endowed man enjoys and being treated quite well by an open minded young bottom. Ps: Chinese is very straight forward with sex, desire and I had great memories with them.

Possible, I haven’t been to the Philippines yet and perhaps in the near future. Been hearing some good stuffs from the area. For free sex, Malaysia is probably the best place for it. Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket are more of an international with choices from around the world plus the MB.

Mostly, from an applications and occasionally at Starbucks and other coffee places.  Anyone seems to be or might be, just give them a smile and or long stare. it works well.

Use your time wisely when taking coffee, checking on an applications and a sweet cutie might be within a few feet. With a decent looking and good offer, one should have lot of fun.
