Apparently some 40yo Chinese guy dressed like a girl and used online dating apps to hook up with some straight men and video recorded all of his encounters and released them online. It is circulating everywhere now. More than 1000 guys hooked up with her and some might have committed suicide. China seems to be enforcing the anti gay propaganda fiercely from now on but when I was searching for the videos I got into many Chinese telegram groups that share porns and I gotta confess, there is a whole another world out there. It makes american porn industry laughable... I am sure the hiring in china is everywhere for locals but our forum doesn't have much info on china. Very interesting revelations. It has its own platforms. Unlike some countries, homosexuality is not a crime (other than certain usual exceptions like minors) and there are pretty active gay communities in the major cities. Chengdu may not seem a major city but it does have a population of around 21 million and boasts nearly 20 universities. As I have written before, when I visited the apps there were absolutely buzzing with students keen to hook up with an older westerner. Although an internet check will provide differing results on population numbers, this is largely because some are based on a 2010 census and others on much more recent local data. In 2020 it is generally agreed there were 113 cities with populations of more than 1 million. Several have grown even larger since then. In 2024 the country had 18 mega cities with populations of more than 10 million. That means a lot of gay guys. Overall, the general lack of gay bars and clubs means gay guys depend a great deal on hook ups using apps and meeting up for small parties in one of their apartments. But contrary to the OP good friends in Shanghai tell me there is not a lot of Chinese-related porn circulated. I can't tell the difference between Chinese and taiwanese but from the videos with Chinese letters, I can see these are simplified Chinese, so I assume they are not taiwanese. Plus they are not vanilla at all, like crazy group sex etc. maybe we are talking about different things, these videos are not professionally made to be distributed via porn sites like the ones in the US but I can see they made for online distribution such as telegram and maybe their own social media. Yet they are of good quality and some sexy models as well. I don't know if their own social media allows for 18+ content but telegram is certainly more loose with adult content. Since a few days, I have signed up not only for Chinese ones but Thai and other asian channels where I don't even know the letters (certainly not Thai!). But a lot of content are from Chinese speaking countries... What was the app they use for gay hookups? I remember using one long before covid when I visited Beijing briefly but I think they had two versions: one with local numbers and one for foreigners, which had limited use and less users if I remember correctly.
