New adventures in Tunis capitale

Recommended Posts

I was in Tunisia last April. The main purpose of the trip was sightseeing.

Tunis

  • We stayed in Hotel Le National, which was affordable and felt like the real Tunis experience
  • The main street of the city seems Avenida Habib Bourgiba. I found it very cruisy in the afternoon, evening and night.
  • There was a bar called 'Café Le Paris' which served beer on the terrace and inside. We have been a couple of times and it seemed a place to chill for an hour, make eye contact and leave somewhere else.
  • I tried the hamman everyone talks about, close to the gate to the medina. I found the place dirty and full of too old men.
  • Years ago, when visiting the medina, it was the typical enter-a-shop and meet whoever you wanted spot. That didn't happen for some reason in April

Sousse

  • Very lively seaside boulevard where lots of men seem to be wandering around looking for you.
  • we stayed at Anti-stress Hammam (both hotel and hammam). Nothing happened in the hammam. They made it utterly clear that underwear was to be worn at all times, hence a different post on this blog somewhere.
  • Definitely visit Café Le Sirène.

Douz

  • We stayed in a hotel called Sahara Douz
  • My partner got approached during the massage in the hotel.
  • I went out in the village on my own at night and got approached by multiple men asking me to go for a ride in their car in the desert. I refused.
  • One afternoon, I went for a coffee next door. Three men at a table next to me asked me if I was married. I said yes and their answer was that I needed to be careful as feminine looking guys were easily approached as targets due to the sexual frustration they experience.

No clue to what extent this review is any useful.

Anyhow, I love the country. The men in my opinion are far from attractive. Nothing like Egypt. But very easy to find sex in case wanted / needed.

Enjoy!
