It has been mentioned before in other posts on the forum.  I know Mac comes highly recommended by several members.  My experience with him was a 'no show' at the last minute.  They have two other guides in Bangkok as well.  No idea if any of them have access to a car.  I recently hired Woody in Chiang Mai and that was a great experience and he did have his own car.  I would definitely hire Woody again.  Perhaps the guides located in Bangkok have access to a car or can make arrangements.  Just a thought.

Mac is good, and has a friend with a car. However, I agree that he can be unreliable at short notice. I have stuck with him, over the years, and he has been better, at least for me. There is no doubt that he has issues. He does know his stuff, if all goes well. He is a nice guy, and never overcharges.

Mac has no car, Ohh has car, but currently he has no guiding license, while has 10+ years of guiding experience.

By the way: you don't need car in BKK, unless you has special needs or want to visit Ayutthaya or other places outside of BKK. BKK is famous by it traffic jams (2nd in World by Congestion world rank according to TomTom), so boats + skytrain are more suitable for fast transfers.

You may reserve guide for 8 hours (USD 89) for day tour (before sunset) and/or for 6 hours after sunset for evening tour (USD 59). If you need car, additional payment for 8 hours is  USD 99 + fuel.

Mac does have access to a car, He has a friend who has a taxi, which Mac uses. I have used him, and the car, to go to Ayutthaya, Kanchanburi, and the town where the train goes through the market.

I agree that a car is probably more trouble than it's worth. Now that the main tourist sights are more accessible by public transport I think that's a better option.

My tour guide friend is living in Saraburi now but he does travel to Bangkok to do tours sometimes. I can see if he's interested
