El Salvador

I am planning a trip to El Salvador in Feb. It is more of a travel,  nature exploring trip but I was wondering it looks like El Salvador really doesn’t have much of a gay scene. I was suprised they do not have anything like mileroticos like other Latin American places.

I've been a number of years ago when it was more dangerous...3 friends that I used to visit that got deported were all killed during that time, so I haven't been back.

But there were only 2 gay bars in the capital, across the street from each other... only the "open" gays went to. Salvador is so small, everyone knows whos' going where so if you were closeted, you went to regular bars.

They all told me, go to any bar/cantina and after a 6-pack, everyone is gay.

Plus there are the apps, always gay for pay too not just gay.

Supposedly with the president there now, that killed everyone that was dangerous or perceived dangerous.... things are safer 🤷‍♂️

I've been maybe a year ago - and in my previous visit 12yrs prior it was MUCH more dangerous. Had a great long weekend trip - both in San Salvador, on the beach and ob ruta de las flores. There were two gay bars in San Salvador - literally on the same block, one was legit and had a young crowd, the other one (promising go-go dancers) felt scam-mish. There was one offer online from a decent guy for $50 but I was one the move between mountains and beaches and just didn't have time. Amazing country - I'm not a big fan of Central America (compared to South America) but El Salvador is very good
