Short stay in KL; up to date recommendations / info?

Looking into short side-trip next month when I booked to go to Bangkok. My holiday will be 3 weeks, starting and ending with about 5 days Bangkok. But for the week in between my Bangkok days I am looking to go somewhere else. Have been to KL, but long time ago. I like big cities, so for sure I will be fine there visiting some places again (sight-seeing during daytime). Was wondering does anybody have some up-to-date inside information?

How to find (massage) guys? Grindr? Other specific apps or sites that work good in KL for hooking up? What are the (gay) places to go to, if any? Rates for mb's?

Will all hotels accept guests from outside? I've read in other thread somebody didn't have problems getting boy to room in Ibis Styles, so should I go for safe and book that hotel?

Thinking about 4 night in KL, than 2 more nights in Malacca for sight-seeing before flying back in Bangkok from there. Fully aware not to expect much gaylife or hanky panky in Malacca but can survive few nights without. After all, after that I will be whoring again in Bangkok for few nights. LOL

March will be fasting month and eid holiday (20-21 march). While this only affect Muslims, it will somehow affect your travel a bit, such as closure of certain attractions during the eid for example, and some restaurants will close during day time (no issue in KL city though, in fact, it will be less crowded). One perk to come during fasting month are our famous daily food bazaar in the evening (4pm onward), where throughout the cities, there will be plenty of markets selling food (some rare delicacies thats only available during fasting month) for breaking the fast.

So far, i havent heard of any issues of bringing boys back to your room here. Around bukit bintang area especially, there shouldnt be any issue. In fact, many freelance MB operates from low cost hotels there. To find guys, apps works, so does rentmen, and there is still massage centers in bukit bintang that u might get lucky but mostly will be just HJ. There is a few gay centers offering masseurs but as far as i know, it is outcall only now, and rarely i find muscular guys my type there. Rentmen and grindr would probably be better to find muscular guys, but during fasting month, huge portion of potential MBs might not be around (muslim indonesian Mb) during fasting month.

I'm off to KL on the 15th for Chinese new year.

This will be my 5th trip in 12 months.

I used to visit the Otot-otot sauna, but didn't bother the last 2 times because I couldn't find any guys I liked. Now that they've been raided, I won't be going back.

When I first went there about 15 years ago, KL was pretty dead, with not much to do. Now there's lots of places to keep you occupied - Chinatown, Brickfields (little India), beautiful mosques and gardens ( you can walk along suspension bridges through a rainforest, right next to the Menara tower). Food choices galore and incredible sky bars where you can sip on a cocktail and admire the stunning views. Try Helipad, Traders bar, Vertigo @Banyan tree, Cielo...the list is endless.

For massage, walk down bukit bintang street and turn into the street which leads to Jalan Alor food street. Keep walking past that Street and you'll  see massage places on either side of the street as you walk downhill. Continue on, and you'll come across a pub district.

I didn't see any freelancers out on the street art night - only ladyboys outside my hotel.

I did a day trip to Malacca from KL on a tour bus. It was ok, but I wouldn't spend 2 days there. There wasn't a lot to see.
