2 hours ago2 hr Hi Guys,I am looking for the right spot for long term stays / retirement, within the next year or two. I have been strongly considering Siem Reap, Cambodia. However, Bali has become an option for me (a boy I am quite into has reappeared there) . We met in Jakarta 2 years ago and are looking to reconnect in Bali.Does anyone have opinions or tips on the idea of trying to live in Bali long term. I am 64 from California.Thank you in advance!
1 hour ago1 hr From Google:Getting residency in Bali for retirement is quite structured, but highly achievable since you meet the age criteria. [1, 2]Pathways to Long-Term Residency in BaliThe Retirement KITAS (E33F Visa): Since you are 64, you are fully eligible for this temporary residence permit designed specifically for foreigners aged 55 or 60+ who do not wish to work locally. It is issued for 1 year and can be renewed annually for up to 5 years, after which you can apply for a permanent KITAP residency.Financial Requirements: You need to show proof of a stable passive monthly income or pension of at least USD $3,000, along with recent bank statements showing an ending balance of at least USD $2,000.Other Requirements: You must provide a local housing lease agreement, hold a valid health insurance policy for at least a year, and commit to employing local domestic helpers. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]The Second Home Visa (E33): This is a sponsor-free 5- or 10-year multi-entry residency pathway aimed at self-funded expats and retirees.Financial Requirements: This option carries a much higher financial barrier. Within 90 days of arriving, you must commit to either placing a USD $130,000 deposit into a state-owned Indonesian bank or buying luxury Indonesian real estate valued at a minimum of USD $1,000,000.
