Hello all,

 

It has been a year since my last visit to Bangkok.

 

I will be arriving at 0:45am in the morning. Does anyone know if there are any restaurants still open after midnight? 

 

I will be staying at Hotel Muse. 10 mins walk distance from Chidlom Station.

 

 

 

 

Pretty sure there are fast food restaurant less then a 10 minute walk from you.

If I arrive past midnight i like to settle first night at BBB Inn, not because Foodland Patpong har 7/24 restaurant but because round clock availability of bed warmers  in the INN.

Is Foodland a restaurant or a supermarket?

 

I am looking at it online. It does look like a supermarket though.

there is never a lack of food in Bangkok, at any time. There will be plenty of street food available along Sukhumvit, catering to all the bar girls and staff who finish working around 2am.

Easiest thing to do .  Jump in a taxi for 35 baht and 3 minutes to close to the Siam BTS station where you will find many many restaurants of all types open.

 

Of course you will have many choices for sandwiches etc before leaving the airport.

Foodland is a supermarket but at least one in Patpong has adjacent 7/24 restaurant, nothing fancy but fairly cheap and with quite extensive menu. Very busy 1-4 when bars are closing and staff is congregating there for a meals and gossip.

 

I'm not gourmet food connoisseur  so for me this is place good enough for meals and people watching. Cheap American breakfast before 9 at 69 baht for those staying in hotels without food service like BBB Inn or Pavillon Place. I drag my boys there often for a breakfast together

I see. Luckily my accommodation includes buffet breakfast so that I don't need to worry too much in the morning.

 

I will definitely go where the locals eat.

Same here, as long as it authentic I am happy to eat.  However I am not used to the hot sticky weather in Thailand.That's why I usually have my meals in food courts. Have you been to Central Embassy yet? I heard its food court is amazing. 

I like Siam Paragon better.  Not so spread out!

for me hot and sticky weather means that I eat very little surviving day mostly on fruit snacks and ice cream, only in the evening have one meal usually chicken with cashew nuts either in Oasis on Suriwong close to Tartawan or in one of soi Twilight places /Maxi's or Dicks/.

 

I'm not  a fan of food court type foods but as said before, I'm last person to give food and restaurant advice since I pay little attention to food when traveling  

I always get really good food at Dicks

I pay a bit more, but I don't worry about quality.

Thailand is a foddie's paradize if there is one. From street food to high end restaurants and everything in between - never had a bad meal there. But then - I do like Thai, so easy to please. Some of the best I had was at small street food stalls.

Unless you fly in via budget airlines, there should be meals served on board..

Be a cheapskate like me, ask the flight attendants for some bread and butter/jam.

Ask them to put the food into a doggie bag for you.

This way you dont have to venture out in the middle of the night.

 

However and otherwise, there are plenty of 7-11 convenience stalls in Bangkok.

Just pop into one and you will be amazed by the array of "warm" food (via the microwave oven) available.

Food (and probably good-looking boys/man) is one of the least worry you should have in Thailand.

 

So enjoy yourself...play SAFE.

Haha, you are so funny. I will be flying with Qantas, so there will be meals served.

nothing beats banana pancake in front of Silom soi 2 at midnight

I had very few bad meals, but that is out of thousands! My main complaint is tendons and bone splinters in Khao Pad Gai or Tom Kha Gai, inacceptable!

What would you recommend? 

Convent Road - many palces there, including foodstalls.

Vincent's in Soi Pumphlee

Mango Tree - pricey but very good

The come to my mind.
