  1. I must be getting easy in my old age. I have stayed at the Crown Plaza LAX at least 20 times for a Priceline rate of $40 and found it just fine. Slept great and heard no noise. True it could use some updating but for a 12 hour stay in Lax all I want is a comfortable bed and a quiet room which I have always gotten.

For $40 you can't ask for much more!!!

  2. The only FF ticket available, and it's a good schedule except for the coach part, is the end of January, beginning of February. Coming from the desert, humidity is my enemy. I usually sweat a few pounds off in visiting Thailand.

My preferred time to go is right after Christmas, but airfares are high then and no FF tickets available at decent mileage.

I once stayed in Bangkok the first week of March and for a couple of days it was unbearably hot.

So, I ask the Thailand regulars: Does the weather get much hotter at the end of January than in the holiday period?

Honestly I don't notice much difference until getting into March when it becomes more Humid and the temp may rise 1 or 2 degrees. But this year has been wetter then most and yet the days have been more variable. There have been some days that are almost cool and others where it has been extremely Hot in the same week.

Weather patterns around the world seem to be changing.

  3. Hi everybody! I bet You will excuse my foreign Engish --I'm from Spain-- because I got good news about Colombia. I came to MedellĂn and Cali a ocuple of days for work reasons and -- please believe me, the boys here are more than willing very ready to pleae... It suffices only to open a (local) profile in Manhunt and the boys flow.. I do not consider myself bad looking, but I confess I am a mature guy (55 y.o.), hairy and a little, although not too heavy. Anyway, there a plenty of young guys to keep me busy.. Sofar I met six very nice boys, ages between 18 and 26, black, white and mulatto types with over average to muscular build... Only one of them expecting to be paid: he got it, and he deserved the 90.000 pesos (around 35-40 euro) for sure.

I have visited several times Brazil, where young people are very open to mature men too (not to mention the legendary sauna boys), but I think Colombia is an indiscovered paradise for intergenerational encounters...

Besides, Colombians are nice and educated. Medellin have a good and extensive zone called El Poblado for the international visitor (and a unforgettable sauna in the city center: La casa de Tobi), food is good... I am still in Cali (I know, it sounds to dangerous, but the bad times are gone!) and I had a list of messages I cannot honoured! What a shame, but so is life ...

Thanks for reading! A big hug!

Your English is fine. More details please on various cities, the sauna you mentioned . Also when I type manhunt I get a cite only for USA???

    Thanks

  4. You talk about the money, like cheap goods don't come with natural drawbacks. I've spent my time in bangkok, rio, sao paulo, venezuela and while the sex can be hot, the communication usually isn't. Getting older, it's more important to me to connect to who I'm seeing, not just sit in a public space with a pretty face or body. Never forget the clients who pay for quality and a guy who can be notonly be sexy, but a true companion.

I somewhat agree with you and understand the feelings. However it is much more likely you will find a boy in Thailand that you can converse with then it is in Brazil where most boys speak no English. I am one who feels that it is their country so visitors should have to learn their language.

Unfortunately I am terrible at learning languages . Anyways since this is about Rent Boys, where is it that you think you can get these deep conversations at an affordable price????

  5. Well maybe close but Oz's numbers are a little bit off. First in most of the cities in Thailand 2500 for an overnight would be considered extremely generous.

Always up to you but 1500 will be gladly accepted in most cities and 2000 in Bangkok.

Also short time with a boy in Thailand is much longer if you wish, then a session in one of the saunas in Brazil. On average at least 2 hours would be normal in Thailand while they will be chasing you out in Brazil in under an hour or you will be paying more. For some who like it Wham Bam, then this makes no difference.

Next there is no need for a short time room in Thailand since it is acceptable to bring a boy back to your room and in many cases the Hotel will check and hold the ID until the boy leaves . There are many hotels in Brazil where you will not be able to bring a boy back or if you can it will require bribes to the guards which naturally increases your costs.

If you like Twinks, they will be very hard to find in Brazil at least according to my description of a Twink. OZ says there were lots of them in Port Allegre but we have no photographic proof and unless things have changed they are rare in SaoPaulo and Rio.

Next if you are used to staying at an extremely nice Hotel on your vacation, that will cost you at least twice as much in Brazil then Thailand and in some cases 3 times as much.

Of course some of this is controlled by strength and weakness of the Dollar and other Currencies.

Anyways everyone should experience Brazil . But if you like Asians as much as Latins and you like Twinks then there is no comparison where you get the most for your money.

    Thailand by a mile!!!

  6. there is some good news/bad news as far as hotels go in Rio...Bad news is that the hotel rates keep going up with no relief in site. When I went in November of '08, Gary from GTB negotiated a rate of right around $100 for a standard room at the Atlantico.. in November of '09, that same room (now called deluxe) was around $115..and for this year, it had gone up even more.. And anyone who has stayed there can vouch for this, the Atlantico has a great location and a very liberal visitor's policy, but the rooms/hotel itself is not anything fancy.

The good news is that Gary will be in Rio for Thanksgiving, and he is previewing several agencies which specialize in vacation rentals in Rio..They have many options ranging from basic accomodations to luxury penthouses, with everything in between. Imagine renting your own apartment for your stay, complete with its own private hottub and/or pool. Many of these apartments can be had for much less than the hotels.. The down side is no breakfast included--no room service..and no "points" with your favorite hotel chain.

Most of them claim to have 24 hour doormen for the buildings..If you travel with a friend, imagine booking a really nice two bedroom apartment to share, and spending much less than two separate hotel rooms... I look forward to hearing from Gary in a month when he returns with his report.

It will be interesting to see that report. In the past those apartments have turned out to be nothing like the photos and still pretty expensive.

I have been to Rio 1/2 dozen times and have always found the Hotels to very expensive for the quality of the rooms etc. IMHO the Atlantico is a dump . I admit to being prejudiced here but for what the Atlantico charges , I can stay in fabulous 5 star Hotels in Thailand. Likewise to get a Hotel comparable to the 5 stars in Thailand, I have to pay 2 to 3 times the price.

This is not to say that Brazil is not a great destination, just that since Hotels are usually a major part of expense on a trip, a Brazil vacation will cost considerably more then a Thailand vacation. Of course the airfare is a little more to Thailand .

These comparisons change according to the vagaries of the strength of the Dollar and the currency of the destination. A few years ago Brazil was a much bigger bargain. Of course a few months ago when the Euoro tanked, Prague was an unbelievable bargain.

The moral of the story is to be aware of the exchange rates and if you want the most bang for your buck , you may find one destination offering way more for your money including the price of Boys.

Or of course you could just follow OZ and use points or miles. Oh wait a minute , how much do you have to spend to get those points???? Maybe OZ will share??????

  7. The Good, The Bad and the Ugly on Gay Saunas in Rio De Janeiro

First, Rio is amazing. The saunas are fantastic. If you like men, you will not be able to visit the saunas and not find someone you want to take with you for a short time. If you like young boys, Rio is not the place for you. Even the 18 year olds here fuck like men.

    .

If you have been dreaming of taking a trip to Rio, plan it out in advance. It is an amazing opportunity! Don't miss out on all the fun before the US dollar gets even worst!

Wow seems like the weak $ has made it quite expensive there. If I understand you the boys want a 100 and add the room etc , short time now cost $100US and will only get worse. Even though I know you are not paying for your Hotels this trip, I would assume the Hotels and nice restaurants have also become quite expensive/

Certainly not the budget destination of a few years ago!!!!

  8. Xiandarkthorne, I think Firecat meant a 2 hour fee of US$60 plus 500 baht extra, more or less, for an overnight.

By the way, I've been following your blog. You have an interesting POV on stuff. B) Hope your adventures in tennis are working out for you. ^_^

    Thanks Xiandarkthorne

Exactly what I meant. With Gayromeo you eliminate the drinks and mamasan tips and the off fees.. In Bangkok boys almost always will be happy with 1000 baht ($33) for short time and 1500 baht ($50) for overnight but not all will want to spend the night. So you save drink (260) Tips (100) and off fee (400) total of 760 baht or about $25 plus most Boys in Bangkok Bars expect 1500 bahtshort time and 2000 all night so you save another 500 baht.

I pay the same in Pattaya but there the fees to the boy are about the same are about the same as Bar Boys expect, Thats not to say many boys won't accept less then 1000, I just don't offer it.

With Gayromeo be specific what you want and that no Honey no Money. Also make sure they know you expect them to look like photos not 10 years older.

On balance I have just as many great hook ups for money with Gayromeo as I do in the Bars. Some people like to be able to touch the boy and for then Bars are better.

One other thing with Gayromeo you will find Boys who just want Sex with a Westerner, no money involved and usually just as good looking as any of the other boys.

I find mixing them both works pretty well especially since the Bars are only open 4 hours and Gayromeo is open 24 hours a day!!!

  9. Firecat only $20. difference between short time and all night is that correct? Also does those fees include the tip or off fees that OZ spoke about?

Really even less for the all night. Usually boys would expect 500 baht more for all night which is about $16.

Those prices would include the off fee but not drinks. Those are the Bangkok prices . Even less outside the Big City

  10. We have a really good thread going in the Latin America forum about what a week in Rio costs---hotels, meals, boys, sightseeing, etc.. How about getting the same going here for Bangkok? Assuming the exchange rate stays fairly close to what it is now, how much can an average American expect to spend for a week of fun, sightseeing, and sex?

Also, how easy or difficult is it for someone who has never been to Asia before and does not speak the language?

thanks in advance for the input from all those who are "in the know"..

PS.. also posting the same topics in the Europe forums about Prague and Barcelona.

Many Hotels much nicer then where you stay in Rio can be had for $60 or less. Massage for 90 minutes with Sex $50-$75 depending on place.

Boys from GoGo Bar short time (2hours) $60 All night $80 Drinks at Gay bars between $4-$10 depending on Bar and day of week. Boys from Gayromeo $35 short time.

Meals on the street $3. Thai restaurant $5-$7 Western food $7 - infinity

Taxis and transportation very inexpensive. Sightseeing very inexpensive.

  11. My apologies, firecat. I had no intent to comment on your tastes or interests. I got on the defensive when Oz' response was that my observations were totally incorrect. My experience was what it was-that I did see more young guys than I wanted to see. But what I left out is that of course I found guys to like- as you point out, why else go 13 times? The Thai smile can win me over as much as the next guy. I met many collegiate types, especially in my earlier visits.

My partner looks a lot younger than he is, so I know well of what you speak. There are two separate issues here, and we got off on the wrong one. Sorry about that.

Nice that we can come to an understanding even when tempers flare. We and other posters should always keep that in mind when having discussions that we feel very strong about.

  12. To me, being attracted to an 18 year old who looks 12 isn't much different from just being attracted to the 12 year old. Sorry.

So now you choose to be intellectually dishonest. Since you can't refute anything I said, you instead cast aspersions about someone you have no knowledge of. There was nothing in my post that intimated that I liked boys who look like they were very young. In fact the only boy I mentioned that was of interest to me was someone who I thought was 19 or 20. There was no mention of anyone being attracted to boys who look like they were 12. It was used only as a description of how much younger Thais look then they are.

Now that I see how judge mental you are and one sided in your debate , I can't wait for Lucky"s Place to disappear.

I actually considered your posts on this thread to be ridiculous , but I chose to have a debate on the merits. You actually rail on your supposed abuses that happen in Thailand and all the things that sickened you!!! Then in the same debate say you made 13 trips there. I guess you really liked all those skinny young boys because by your own admission there was nothing else available.

Terrible when you hate your self!!!!!

  13. If it is better now, well, please send me a ticket. I'll join you right away!

Airfares to Thailand are so much higher now I doubt that I will go back.

By the way you also better check your travel rates. Los Angeles to Bangkok for under $1000 at certain times. an 8500 mile trip when it cost $600 to fly across the country of 2300 miles.

I dare say on average airfares have never been cheaper to Asia

Evidently you need a better travel agent!!!!

  14. There is under 18 and then there is the under-18 look. Pattaya specializes in the latter, if not the former. I have seen underage kids, on the beach, and on the main road. They did clean the beach up as it was a mindfuck to see a 7 year old on an old man's lap asking him to fuck him. I had an 8 year old try to pick me up on the main drag- to go to my bungalow for sex. I was so shocked I couldn't get away fast enough. I went to a bar in Sunnee Plaza and saw a heavy set man around 70 making out with a kid around nine years old. That was 2 years ago and it got me to leave Pattaya a day early.

I found one guy with any muscle on him, and he was a dud in bed. So, my experience with Pattaya declined from the late 80s and early 90s when I really liked the place.

If it is better now, well, please send me a ticket. I'll join you right away!

Airfares to Thailand are so much higher now I doubt that I will go back.

    Lucky,

What you describe happens in every country in the world. Why use it to color peoples thoughts on a whole country. Would you like the police reports read from your city all over the world on pedophiles arrested and jailed for rape etc.. It happens everywhere and anyone who doesn't realize that , either has a closed mind or has not travelled enough in the world to understand what goes on.

What you say seems more to be colored by your dislike for young looking boys with slim bodies who may even be on the feminine side. You are entitled not to like a place because the available men are not to your taste but you should not take that prejudice to color the overall scene. I can show you many boys that you would probably think are 12 or 13 and they are 25. I saw a wonderful boy in Bangkok for 2 years . I thought he was 19 or 20 and then one day looked at his passport. He was 34!!!!!!

It would appear you probably love the men of Brazil being much more masculine and muscular for the most apart. Everything you said you saw in Pattaya you can see in Brazil if you are looking. In fact you can see it in Los Angeles, New York, Detroit, Dallas ete etc etc.

Don't punish the boys in Thailand because they are "lucky "enough to appear much younger then their age. I dare say you would love to have people think you are 10 or 15 years younger then you are!!!!

  15. Totally incorrect. If you are in Sunee Plaza, the guys are young. There is only one of MANY gay areas. If you go to Boyztown, they are not young and I think the average age of one muscle bar there is about 30 up. If you use GayRomeo, you will get every age just like you do in Bangkok, Rio, LA, etc.

Pattaya is not a place for young boys. That is a misconception. Sure, they are there if you want them and maybe there are more bars that cater to this clientele. However, they are also in every other city I know of if you want them and know where to look. I remember back to my first trip in Rio and meeting a guy that was bragging about picking up the young street kids. I left the table at Corijunha's and never spoke to him again.

My first long term date in Pattaya was with a 19 year old in Bangkok. He said he was 19. A few days later, he admitted he lied and was actually 22. I laughed and said no problem. We checked into the Marriott in Pattaya and they made a copy of his ID. When he wasn't around, I went back and asked his real age. They said 29. Once again I laughed. This was about 7 - 8 years ago. I still see him from time to time and when I ask his age, he says, "19". He looks it. But, I know he is now in his mid 30s.

Pattaya has gotten a bad reputation over the years. I will not say it was not deserved. But, it is cleaned up drastically. If you come for a trip to Thailand and I am here, let me show you the real part of Pattaya which is not a young scene at all but older guys, discos, after hours clubs, Internet dates, etc.

Lucky, I have always respected your perspective on all subjects. But, on this one, you are wrong. Sorry.

I am in complete agreement with OZ.. Young is available anywhere and not more so in Thailand. We all wish we could be 32 and look 19 but the Thais do it all the time.

  16. Wherever you go, there you shall always be. You can never hide from ones self, only pretend that where you now are, might change your very being and soul.

Ahhh, to be older as apposed to younger. Age brings one wisdom, whereas youth only brings you difficult lessons sometimes learned, if you're really lucky.

Some people have said some nasty and untrue things here.

So be it. Until it remains no more.

There can only be one true legacy website.

Someone should tell Daddy Legacy infers something that is passed down and earned not STOLEN. Legacy I am afraid not!!!!!

  17. I just discovered this board. I'm new here so please forgive me if I'm posting anything that has already been covered, although I did not find anything similar when I first did a search.

Does anyone besides me use Gay Romeo? That's my favorite hook-up site and almost always yields good results. There are escorts, "money boys," and plenty of guys just looking for a good time. And I mean a lot of guys! If you haven't tried it, it's free and I highly recommend it.

I am not connected in any way with Gay Romeo, so please don't think I'm someone representing Gay Romeo just to advertise. But I am somewhat surprised not to find any posts about it on this board.

If you give it a try, I would be very interested to know what you think of it.

    http://www.gayromeo.com

Use it all the time in Thailand with great success!!!

  18. Cracks me up every time I read about people donating money to Daddy. It really is true that a sucker is born every minute. And there is a never ending supply.

I still remember intelligent people I knew well contributing money to Hooboy. He was staying in $1000 a night suites and filling them up with boys from the money he was making from the site. And Daddy has followed right along begging for money from people who ought to know better.

If you want to throw your money away give it to OZ and Tampa who run the site the way it should be run and never lower themselves to be Beggars

  19. Well I just booked my next trip to Rio for December 5th, and I am still talking to the same guy I met on this last trip every day on the phone, just haven't figured out yet how to sneak away every night at 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm to the saunas with a excuse he will believe!! :-)

And where are you hiding the photos?????

  20. Thailand is quite magical and I have yet to meet anyone who likes guys for rent that did not have the time of their life there. The place is a mecca. However, if there were not guys there, I'd still have a fantastic time as the culture and the people really are amazing. It does not get the term Land of Smiles for no reason. The people are full of fun and laughter. Plus, unlike parts of Brazil, it is totally safe and easy to get anywhere!

I highly recommend South Africa. Capetown is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever seen.

It is also quite interesting for a White person to be in the minority day after day. It takes a couple of days and then you are comfortable but it is an insight into how the Negro feels in USA.

Of course the Safaris are wonderful.

Although we only spent 4 days in Israel, the history you can soak up in that time is amazing. I would recommend at least 2 weeks and a very good guide. But better bring your BF with you because not much available in either destination. Then again Oz what might not be available to me, might very well be available for you.

I also enjoyed Japan but you have to get out of Tokyo. And of course you are always stopping in Japan on the way to Thailand.

  21. Just to add some perspective from someone who is in Bangkok , rather then statements of chaos from news organizations and self proclaimed experts (not you Oz)

I was also here last December during the Airport closings.

It is the same this time. There is no chaos in 95% of the city of Bangkok and especially the tourist areas.

Songarn festival started last night and there was much fun going on for the residents and visitors of Bangkok.

I am not saying it is impossible to get caught in a dangerous area but it is unlikely and especially if you don't act angry to one side or another should you encounter a demonstration.

Life goes on pretty much as normal and any injuries have been to Thais and superficial at best.

Reports of gunfire early on were just that reports from people who don't know what they are talking about. Apparently this morning the Military fired some shots in the air to disperse a crowd.

With people dying in Athens a few weeks ago and many other areas of civil unrest where people are dying, this is nothing more then an annoyance for the visitors who are in country.
