  2. In 1992 I watched my best friend whither away. He died in an AIDS hospice gasping for breath. I can't imagine why people would "chase" after this horrible disease. It makes no sense.
  3. I read the short story "Good Country People" by O'Connor in high school. I love it!
  4. Hanyu is a fantastic skater, although I was distraught that Patrick Chan crumbled somewhat due to nerves.
  5. I was at Thermas about 3 years ago. I did not like how "fascist" they were about going topless. I prefer keeping my man breasts under cover.
  6. Meryl Streep is fantastic in "August: Osage County". The supporting cast is amazing as well. In a small role, American Indian actress, Missy Upham, is wonderful; exhibiting quiet strength.
  7. As a Canadian I am happy that our Supreme Court produced a sensible decision. However, the current ruling party in Canada, the Conservatives, will be writing the new legislation and will probably follow the Scandinavian model of punishing the pimps and johns which will create more problems. The anti-prostitution lobby groups in Canada are focusing the human trafficking of women and girls. Issues concerning male prostitution are rarely considered.
  8. Sometime around New Years "Timmy" was possessed by the devil and murdered the Bishops.
  9. What a beautiful song accompanying the tribute.
  10. I watched this movie without subtitles. I enjoyed it, but I would really like to see it again with the subtitles. I haven't been able to find a version with subtitles. Help anyone!
  11. A knockout! Sounds like a sweet guy as well!
  12. Very nice. Must be lovely when filled with luscious Brazilian boys.
  13. I just finished this book and I liked it a lot. It's a sexual biography of sorts and chronicles Gore Vidal's sexual life. Like many guys on here, Gore Vidal never met a hustler he didn't like. For him, hustlers were a useful outlet for his voracious sexual appetite. As a young man he was very handsome and slept with a number of Hollywood stars such as Rock Hudson, Fred Astaire and Charles Laughton (who was into scat and piss). He described himself as bisexual, but was 99 44/100s homosexual. In his view there was no such thing as a homosexual just homosexual acts (i.e., sucking and fucking). It seems he harboured internalized homophobic self-loathing which is understandable being raised by a mad alcoholic and homophobic mother. He lived with his partner Howard Austen for 53 years, but never really acknowledged him until Austen died (Vidal was devastated). Austen never minded this and enjoyed being Vidal's "chatelaine". Vidal was brilliant, argumentative and contrarian. He avoided being a spokesperson for the gay rights movement, but defended the rights of LGBT people in many of his essays and novels. He wanted society to understand that same sex desire is as normal as heterosexual desire. I've never read Vidal's groundbreaking novel, "The Pillar and the City", but now I may just have to. He live his life by his own rules; and "what a life she had!" It's a good read.
  14. Who knew he was a cute twink?
  15. The vast majority of Canadians live within a 100 miles of the U.S. border. Cross-border shopping is a national pastime as American prices are cheaper on many items (because of economies of scale I think). On US holidays many Americans come north. Somewhat less now that are currencies are nearly at par. Many LGBT Americans come north for Pride celebrations in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. In 2014 Toronto is hosting World Pride but I hear that hotel rooms are going fast. Christmas and Easter are the same. We have Family Day in February (2nd Monday) in Ontario. Victoria Day in May (a remnant of Canada's colonial past), Canada Day is July 1. The first week in August is just known as a Civic holiday. First Monday in September is Labour Day. October (second Monday) is Thanksgiving. November 11 is Remembrance Day (our Veteran's Day). Some provinces have their own holidays; Saint Jean Baptiste Day in Quebec on June 24.
  16. Happy Thanksgiving to my American neighbours. In Canada we have Thanksgiving in October (don't know why), but possibly because winter comes earlier up here. My family's Thanksgiving meal was a mixture of American (turkey and stuffing, ham), French Canadian (tortiere, i.e. meat pie), and Native Canadian (fried bannock). My parents and most of my siblings are gone, but my sisters and I get together a remember our dearly departed.
  17. The 100 real sauna rate: is that for one hour?
  18. Such beautiful boys. I'm totally "jay". I hope to make a trip to paradise someday soon. Thank you Tomcat for tantalizing us.
  19. It's a message from God! "Save the World! Suck cock!"
  20. Count the cheesy cliches in this video: 1. Singing dramatically in the pouring rain. 2. Impossibly beautiful couple breaking up. 3. Repetitive lyrics ... repetitive lyrics ... repetitive lyrics 4. Pretty boys galore. I LOVE it! lol
  21. aka "Fucking Without a Condom".
