>ChgoBoy, Tampa Yankee is saying the utmost that can be said

AdamSmith, in my view, Tampa Yankee is simply making excuses for his inability to find resolve to this issue. His own words even speak to this suggestion:

“Good question. The answer is long overdue as is the fix. I apologize for that. I have to accept responsibility for the delay.”

"I have had a fix in my hands that I have partially evaluated. Preliminary inspection indicates that we are not quite ready."

"I have been unable to follow up for completetion due to continuing severe computer problems complete with periodic system crashes. I have had a lot of down time in addition to offline troubleshooting exercises."

"My priorities have been site oversite and maintenance, processing first reviews and profiles as they come in and responding to emails. Next, investigation of my computer ills and dealing with attendant system issues. I fear that I have to move beyond system repair issues to a disk reformat in my near future. I hope to finish the mutiple review fix before that as system reinstalls are open ended blood orgies. Not only that, but all items not verifiably clean will have to be trashed.”

So you see, the only thing Tampa Yankee has really had to say about the second reviews issue is that he has “partially” evaluated the fix. Not even given it a full evaluation yet. The rest of his comments could easily be construed as a major cry out for help, as nothing seems to be working well for him in his position of responsibility, and it would appear, from his comments, he has too much on his plate to handle. Perhaps his skill sets are below the level required for resolution to these type issues. I don’t really know.

>No. Either site management is committed to working the problem

>until the system accepts subsequent reviews and the user

>presentation of this functionality is acceptable, or site

>management is not so committed. From all evidence, the

>commitment is there.

I hear what you’re saying, but fail to see the evidence of which you speak about. What are you seeing that I’m not, that tells you management is committed to resolving this problem? Just curious.

As some have commented here before, it’s hard to believe that this site was rolled out with such a huge component of the core business missing. It’s the equivalent of building a toll bridge for commuters between New Jersey and New York City; with toll collecting machines that can only accept the toll from the first car to cross the bridge going to a specific destination. Then, forces all subsequent commuters going to that same destination, to find another route to drive, to get to their desired destination. And, once they become comfortable with that new route, getting them back to the original one is unlikely at best.

It’s always been my belief that start-up internet ventures have a relatively small window of opportunity to attract and build traffic that ultimately speaks to the success or failure of that venture. In as much as the message center of this site is a real snoozer, to be kind (EscortSpeak has more activity today, than what you find here) one would think that since 05 January 2006, someone would have stepped up to the plate and found the fix to second reviews, that at least would allow this portion of the site to function properly, and at minimum, provide it a chance to get off the ground. In my opinion, someone needs to outsource this problem to a capable resource immediately, or hire a competent individual that provides results instead of ongoing excuses. That’s not just good business, that's survival.

All one can really see and value, is that which is really there and available.

We see the same evidence; we reach different conclusions. Certainly your prerogative.

I believe management is acting and speaking in good faith.

I assume management is doing its best with available resources.

And I agree with the late great Allan Sherman:

Good advice

Costs nothing, and it’s

Worth the price.
