PTT reduces pump prices by 40-70 satang

PTT Plc has cut retail petrol prices by 40-70 satang per litre, effective today, reflecting a weakening in global oil prices as well as baht appreciation. Prices of premium and regular petrol and gasohol 95 were reduced by 40 satang per litre and gasohol 91 by 70 satang. The big cut in gasohol 91 is supported by a reduction in the levy paid to the state Oil Fund to 10 satang per litre from 40 satang previously. Gasohol 91 is now 3.50 baht cheaper than regular petrol.

New prices per litre in Greater Bangkok are 29.99 baht for premium petrol, 29.19 baht for regular petrol, 26.49 baht for gasohol 95 and 25.69 baht for gasohol 91. Diesel remains unchanged at 25.74 baht and biodiesel costs 25.04 baht.

Thai Airways to increase fuel

Thai Airways International (THAI) announced on Friday that it will apply new rates of higher fuel surcharge effective 15 July in line with global fuel prices.

Wallop Bhukkanasut, THAI Executive Vice President for Commercial Affairs said the new rate will be applied to all routes operated by the national flag carrier. This will reflect in tickets issued by local and international ticketing agencies worldwide.

The new rates for certain new routes will be, for example an extra 10 US dollar levy for the flights between Bangkok and Auckland, Bangkok and New York and Los Angeles. (TNA)
