The Glee Project (Season 2) cast announced

"The Glee Project (Season 2)" is headed back to Oxygen for a second season, and 14 hopefuls have officially been cast as contestants on the singing competition show. Their prize? A role on "Glee."

"Glee" co-creator Ryan Murphy, series casting director Robert Ulrich, choreographer/co-producer Zach Woodlee, and vocal coach Nikki Anders will serve as judges on the series.

“I’ve had the immense pleasure of auditioning so many unique and gifted singers, actors and dancers from all over the country” Ulrich said in a statement. “Ultimately, 14 out of thousands were chosen, and I’m so proud of this group of stellar young men and women.”

Get to know the second season cast of "The Glee Project" below:

1. Dani, 23, Orlando, Fla.

A performer since she was in fifth grade, Dani is a self-taught songwriter. After landing a spot on the the Top 48 of Season 6 of "America's Got Talent," Dani began to build a strong fan base. If she won, Dani has she said she would like to play an androgynous female who strays from her Mormon upbringing on "Glee."

2. Nellie, 19, Tacoma, Wash.

A long-time vocalist for a local swing band, Nellie writes music and plays piano and guitar. Nellie was chosen for Season 2 of "The Glee Project" through an online video submission.

3. Aylin, 19, Chicago.

Aylin started the first female a capella group at Loyola Academy and currently majors in vocal jazz performance at Roosevelt University in Chicago. Struggling with her traditional Muslim upbringing for as long as she can remember, Aylin expresses herself through her music.

4. Ali, 24, New York City.

A graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, Ali is paralyzed from the chest down and has been wheelchair-bound since age 2. By appearing on "The Glee Project," Ali hopes to inspire other disabled people to go after their dreams.

5. Lily Mae, 18, Cape Cod, Mass.

A current student at Westminster Choir College, Lily Mae has been singing all her life but has a hard time landing key parts because of her heavier figure.

6. Shanna, 21, Auburn, Ala.

Shanna is an expert tuba and trombone player who recently recovered from vocal fold surgery. A student at Auburn University, Shanna has always had a love for sports as well as music.

7. Taryn, 22, Detroit.

Before auditioning for "The Glee Project," Taryn had never performed live for a casting panel. A trained aerialist, Taryn also loves to cook and paint.

8. Tyler, 21, Boca Raton, Fla.

A performer since age since age 10, Tyler has a passion for music and learning different instruments. He's half black, half white, and Jewish and transgender. Citing Lady Gaga as his inspiration, Tyler auditioned for "The Glee Project" at the Nashville open casting call.

9. Michael, 18, Chicago.

Michael has quite the resume for such a young performer. In addition to being a member of a professional blues band, Michael has performed at the House Of Blues in Chicago, and traveled to Tokyo to share his music with the world.

10. Maxfield, 22, Nashville.

A current student at Full Sail University, Maxfield is a country singer/songwriter who started performing just last year. His motivation for appearing on "The Glee Project" is to win back the respect of a girl he loves.

11. Mario, 24, Lanham, Md.

Mario is a singer/songwriter who went completely blind at age 9 due to Morning Glory Syndrome, a condition he was born with. In addition to his music, Mario is also a motivational speaker, comedian, and voice-over artist.

12. Blake, 19, Miami.

A skilled drummer and juggler, Blake's main passion is acting. To earn extra cash on the side, Blake is also parrot salesman.

13. Charlie, 22, Chicago.

A performer since age 14, Charlie received his BFA in acting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He also has severe ADHD and low-spectral autism and credits his success to the support of his friends and family.

14. Abraham, 24, Queens, N.Y./San Diego.

Although his ultimate goal is to be a lawyer, Abraham has made a decision to pursue his other dream first: making it in the entertainment industry. A legal aid and bartender, Abraham has performed on the streets of San Diego for homeless people. Abraham was discovered for "The Glee Project" through an online video submission.
