Members wayout
Hopefully there will be an appeal and the initial rating gets revised. There have been several films from what I can find that have had successful appeals, mostly related to language. It does seem that the MPAA is fairly quick to slap an R-rating on movies because of language so the link to homophobia isn't necessarily clear. Below are a couple relatively recent examples of reversals: http://www.bbcamerica.com/anglophenia/2013/11/update-judi-dench-steve-coogan-win-ratings-battle-philomena/ http://www.care2.com/causes/update-mpaa-reverses-decision-on-bully-film-rating.html
