Toxic Smog in Bangkok

The government this week closed 450 schools as the city faced a continuing toxic smog problem. The haze has been getting worse for weeks, the new says, but I don't remember it being there just 3 weeks ago.

Here's the story: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/jan/30/toxic-smog-forces-bangkok-to-close-hundreds-of-schools

Looks to me that it's always at a certain time of year that it gets bad, I notice during the holiday period when a lot of people left the city for the 7 day break the air cleared up but then upon their return it got bad again, added to all the burning off of crops and bush-land elsewhere and it blowing intro Thailand doesn't help much
