It is not unreasonable for a newbie to seek clarification on the sauna scene. I have been to Brazil 9 times although, for obvious reasons, not for a few years. The scene has changed dramatically in that time. In São Paulo Fragata moved the closed  and Lagoa changed address. Information has been provided on this forum but I have sympathy for someone new absorbing it all.

Thanks! I read a lot of posts but it seems to change a lot. I have seen the busy days posted and the note about the weekend not being busy. I thought there was only one sauna left in SP from the posts...but you mention another...it is confusing, lol. Also people do not agree on the busy days.

I have read nothing about the time of day to go yet but I'm sure it is there somewhere, lol/

There was a typo in my post. It should have read Fragata moved then closed. Regarding timing, late afternoon onwards is usually the case however one big qualification. You can be lucky any time and it only takes one to make an evening (or afternoon!)

São Paulo very much permanently in the rear view mirror. Not enough rear views to my liking.

He pretended to be insulted that I brought up amounts, conveying he sets the price without negoash, and demanded I send payments. Proving hot does not equate to bright or safe. I blocked him, grateful that I did not enter into a dicey situation ‘in vivo’ and that the inner asshole colours were revealed up front. Not that keen on ads anyway; prefer to view the inventory up close and personal and have the predictability and security of a curated experience or taking a vetted fellow off site.

LOL, it's truly amazing people get all worked up about a question. It really is unimportant to say anything if you don't want to answer...just ignore it.

I doubt sincerely that there will be anything interesting for my tastes at these saunas anyway from the descriptions of quasi-gay, gay-for-pay manly guys that mostly ply the saunas.  I will go check them out to be sure though and maybe get lucky.

The two in São Paulo and three in Rio de Janeiro all have Instagram pages that are generally a good up to date source of info, events, etc. These pages are not necessarily all operated to the same standard but give a fairly accurate picture. It takes but a minute to rifle through all five in one sitting.
 

Why seek opinions about the best where’s and when’s? So we can read them over and over and over and over and over again.

Oh, dates lined up with twinks that are more homosexual than “quasi-gay” [sic], I believe? I wouldn’t particularly recommend any single sauna venue so the details of those places may be moot and the type prevalence is not very much matched with specific nights. The same types of providers proliferate across time within a given venue.

If you notice I never asked which saunas had my tastes...i only asked a general question about which ones were open still, dates to go and times to go...never discussed the kind of guys there...
