In speaking with Oliver as he loaded the wagon train for his trip out west, I learned that he has a record number of folks saying that they will attend this year. Sure, some will drop out, but others who have yet to decide may make the numbers even higher. So it looks promising at this stage. If you are on the fence about coming, think how sad you will feel when you learn that you missed the event of the year!

I didn't test security at the fancy hotels due to previous experiences. I want to bring he guy back and not be stopped or questioned. I realize that they don't really care, but I find it intrusive. In the past, they have just wanted me to register the guy and pay $40 more. But, in both cases the guy did not have his ID with him. (Both from Tawan-no question that each was of age.) Once security knocked on my door and said they thought I had a woman in the room. I vociferously denied this, but they insisted on checking anyway. My muscle guy from Tawan still had his briefs on, but it was clear what we were up to. They, too, just wanted the $40. At another hotel, the manager was a friend of a friend of mine and told me that I could bring guys back without problem. But, when I escorted a guy out after we had enjoyed each other's company, a man in a suit got on the elevator with me. He pushed a different floor, but got off with me. Then he said he was security and wanted to check my room as he said I had a guy in there. He looked like security, so I was intimidated and he did check my room. OF course, the guy had left. The next morning I told the manager of this and he checked it out. Security claimed that none of their men did this to me, leaving it a mystery who this guy was.

I assume so...no one has ever wanted to do sneakers with me, so I don't know. You realize, of course, that my message above was meant to be humor.

That's a very good question. She was a horrible, and probably corrupt, Senator. Thankfully the IL Supremes indicate they want Rahm on the ballot.

I'll probably be re-reading these reports for some time. I sure miss having exciting adventures await me everyday. Aces, it's your turn.

What were your favorite books as a child, and why?
Lucky replied to TotallyOz's topic in The Beer Bar
My family were avid readers. We went to the library and came home with stacks of books, which we read and returned for more. Which ones do I remember? The Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, and a third one which came to my mind when I started this post but did not stay for the writing of it. I liked Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer, but literature might have been above me. In high school of course I liked Catcher in the Rye and Flannery O'Connor's short stories. I think I am one of the few people to have read Middlemarch all the way through and thoroughly enjoyed it. -
Would you ever take someone back after they lied to you, and why?
Lucky replied to TotallyOz's topic in The Beer Bar
I had a lying friend with benefits for several years, and I always forgave him because I liked him and was attracted to him. In retrospect, I was a fool to put up with his bullshit. When someone continually lies to you, they don't have much respect for you, do they? But, we can so easily be tempted to gloss over these issues. -
Village Voice columnist Michael Musto thinks Klein should go back in the closet: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/01/24/michael-musto-calvin-klein-nick-gruber_n_812914.html "Get a grip on yourself, girl, and nail some dignity to the floor before this kid steals it all away from you."

When you leave your hometown to serve your government in Washington, you should not be stripped of your status as a resident of your hometown without some declaration that your move is permanent. You can get elected to Congress, move to Washington, and still be considered a resident of your district, why should it be any different if you leave to serve the president? The idea that you have to pay to maintain two residences is elitist and can only deter poorer guys from being able to serve.

I don't care where they sit either. Just not in the crosshairs of the right wing gun nuts.

Billing The Government For Escorts
Lucky replied to BiBottomBoy's topic in European Men and Destinations
We've been six weeks without a post bu Bibottomboy. Hope all is well and he is just busy with the boys. -
You actually saw the guy's pic on the wall and then he made himself available? I like that. One could fantasize for years and never have that happen to him, so it was a lucky moment for you.

I can imagine that taking a helicopter over the falls is a hallmark way of seeing them, but I was quite impressed without doing that. I hired a guide who took us to various viewpoints in both Brazil and Argentina that were quite spectacular. Helicopters can ruin many a national treasure with their noise and constant intrusions on the view and the peacefulness of places like the Grand Canyon. But even they cannot drown out the falls!

Yeah, I recognize the dick. But the guy I know didn't do all of those things he lists: Tastes / Specialties / Fetishes Vanilla, Leather, Fisting, Anal, S&M, B&D, Scat, Oral, Shaving, Spanking, Diapers, Latex, Role Playing, PNP, Kissing, Sneakers, Toys, Feet S'matter of fact, when I asked him to do sneakers with me, he would only do it if I wore a diaper that he had worn. Sorry, I drew the line there.

"5) If you are walking back from Corujinhas, the infamous hustler restaurant at night by yourself, offer $10.R to have one of the boys to walk the 5 blocks back with you, don’t walk alone if you are not familiar with the area. The same applies to Sao Paulo even more so!" Where is the Corujinhas in Sao Paolo?

When Aaron Carter revealed his hot muscled body last October to kick off a comeback attempt, the complete lack of body fat made me wonder if he was getting some extra special help with his diet. My question is answered in today's NY Daily News, which reports that Aaron is in rehab in Southern California. His manager stated: "Aaron, understanding the challenges and hard work it would take to get himself back to the top, requested to take some time before we started to heal some emotional and spiritual issues he was dealing with..." Those darn spiritual issues getting in the way of a comeback. I wish him well. Maybe Scientology can help? It's hard to always be sure how old an Asian man is. The cover of this month's Out in Thailand magazine, hopefully pictured here, shows a cute young man. But when you read the article, you learn that he is 49 year old fashion designer Tananan Wilson. We should all be so lucky as to keep our youthful looks. So maybe rice is the right diet, but I eat more of it than ever and my looks get more crinkly every day. So the alternative is to enjoy your age and commend those who can keep a youthful look...isn't it?

The bill arrived while I was gone for dinner with kjun. I couldn't believe that a Thai hotel coffee shop would charge $126 for two. But, I picked the place...and didn't check the bill before I left.

A re-reading of Bonfire of the Vanities got me from LA to Tokyo. I had forgotten how good that novel is. My next novel, though, took the cake for the lamest death scene ever. It's a gay novel recently out called Code of Conduct, by Rich Merritt. It's supposedly a novel about gays in the military, but these gays are all male models with hot bods. Anyway, to the death scene. One gay soldier has taken home an undercover investigator. The gay guy leaves the room to feed his dog, who has been home alone all day, When he returns, he discovers that the guy he brought home has been snooping around, so he gets a loaded gun out of a desk drawer. In one section, the book says that the undercover guy passed out. But a few pages later, he instead tries to disarm the soldier, and, in the process, shoots him in the head. "In the last seconds of his life, Eddie saw a horrified expression overcome the stranger's face as he stepped away from Eddies's dying body in terror. In the background, Eddie heard (his dog) bark, and he smiled because he knew his friends would take care of the little guy." And they say gay fiction has come a long way.

Thai 'red shirts' protest and demand leaders' release
Lucky replied to TampaYankee's topic in Gay Asia
Those who know more about the issue can correct me, but I think if I lived there, my heart would be with the red shirts. All over Thailand one sees very poor people, many working very hard and very long hours, to make a living, of sorts. The wealthy get to enjoy a social status that goes with them for life, the poor rarely rise above their lower status. Most of the boys I met were from the north, specifically Issan, a very poor province. If the red shirts can help transfer some of the wealth more equitably, then go for it. Peacefully, I hope, but the money coming into Thailand needs to be equitably spread...or so I think. -
Lucky struggles to the finish line. Oz wore me out in Pattaya, and when I returned to Bangkok the hot and humid weather was still there. I walked my butt off anyway as there are so many things to see. The Arena massage parlor was almost across the street, so, after getting a foot massage for $6 an hour, I headed over there. Only 3 guys were out front, but they were welcoming and invited me in. That was good, because inside were about 20 guys working out, playing pool, etc. When a customer enters, they all line up, shirts off, for you to pick. The guy I liked best tried all sorts of sign language to get me to hire him, but I had all of those guys standing there, their hopes on me. So, I picked a guy from the back. What I thought was nice was that they all then cheered for him, then went back to what they were doing. My guy was a little on the tall side for me, nice skin, and very cute. On top of that, he gave an excellent massage. I wasn't so sure how erotic it would be since he left his towel on, but, once we flipped over, the towel went too. Realizing that I only had limited opportunities, I also went with another guy from the Bonny massage. All he had to do was smile at me and I was his. Friday night was dinner with MER poster firecat. We went to the Telephone Pub, which is a long time gay venue, and had a good meal outdoors. If we had sat inside, we could have used the phones on the tables to all other tables and try to pick up the guy there. (Truthfully I didn't look to see if this feature, which I had noted in the past, still exists!) Firecat took me to Best Boys Bangkok, where we watched the dancers for what seemed an interminable wait for the show to start. (Not that the multitude of boys dancing was hard on the eyes!) We noticed the guys across from us had picked a guy, and we both thought the guy looked much cuter once unavailable. What made it worse was that he then dressed, and I had to watch his cute face all through the show, wondering why I had not picked him. The show was okay, with several guys dressed as girls fucking another guy. Once again, big dicks prevailed. There was one dance number where a group of boys danced, but I focused on the cute one in front of me, dancing his heart out probably unaware that I was raping him in my mind. I think the main show there is later in the evening. Sadly, this is when the fatigue set in. On the way back to the hotel, I saw yet another very cute, and available guy, but I was just too tired. I determined to hire him on my last night, but as kjun notes elsewhere, my energy never quite resumed, and my grand finale was a grand bust. I did finish up my shopping though!! Ultimately, I had a great time in Thailand and truly enjoyed meeting the guys from MER. In Chiang Mai I stayed at a gay guesthouse called PJ's Place, which offers a very nice room, with a good breakfast, for $50, tax included, plus they provide free airport transfers. A deal. Chiang Mai bars are so far apart that the tuk-tuk is the main way to get around. They are quite a bumpy ride, and I enjoyed them much more when I was 30 years younger. In Pattaya, the feet are the main mode of transport, unless going to the gay beach at Jomtien, when you take a baht bus. (No, I don't know those guys.) The air is cooler in Pattaya, but not as nice as Chiang Mai, which is a higher elevation to the north. In Pattaya, I stayed at my old favorite gay hotel, the Ambiance. Never again. Pride of ownership, which used to be their forte, is gone. My sheets the first night were, in fact, clean, but the semen stains of the past had not come out. Yes, I got them changed, but the many bugs in the bath did not go away. The hotel now uses women to staff the desk at night, and that's okay, but it was nicer when you'd come in to be greeted by a cute gay guy. The real problem is that the attached bar, Boyz Boyz Boyz, which used to be the premiere bar in Pattaya, had really gone down hill. They used to get the best boys, and their show was the best in town. No more. Many new high-rise luxury hotels have gone up in Pattaya, so that may be the way to go next time. Bangkok is full of luxury hotels at decent prices, and, in that heat, you are glad to come back to something nice and relaxing. I didn't stay there, but the new Le Meridien is smack dab in the middle of Patpong, the main night life area. My flight back was on time, and fully packed. When approaching Narita, they announced that the flight to Portland was canceled due to mechanical problems, so many disappointed folks were about to go through what I did at the start of my trip. You'd think Delta would have checked those planes out before they bought Northwest. Tomorrow I start on those insurance forms. Finally, a word to anyone who expected me to have more sex: So did I.

kjun, I was greatly disappointed not to get to spend more time with you and your bf on Saturday. I think I was just worn out by then. I did go back and sleep, but that made it all the harder to sleep on the plane. So, Lucky is home, safe and sound, but tired and worn! I'll put my last report up in the Thailand/Asia forum.
