  1. Avoid most W hotels then! I love the open tubs/showers in the suites of some W's and i like to direct small theatrical productions when staying in one.
  2. Details are going to be relient on TotallyOz's return to SoCal.
  3. Happiest of days to one of my favorite MERmen!
  4. I just want to put a place marker here, I would like to start making plans for a dinner in WeHo for mid-July. Date and place YTBD and will be coordinated with TotallyOz It has been awhile since we have had such a dinner and I look forward to seeing some friends old and new..

  6. I do not have HBO so I buy each full season on DVD via Amazon. I find I much prefer vieng them tin this manner since you can pause it etc,,, I just received season 4 and I look forward to watching them.
  7. Huzah!
  8. A celebration of Studs Terkel's life on what would have been his 100th birthday. http://studsterkelcentenary.wordpress.com/
  9. An insider just clued me in on why these fees and add ons are so beloved by the airlines=it is a tax dodge. The airlines pay a 7% excise tax on ticket revenues. Anything they make by tacking on these fees is taxed as normal income. And just like Hollywood no airline has ever posted a true profit thanks to creative accounting.
  10. You got a very good deal Totally Oz. That is almost the price of the refurbished models
  11. Thanks for the trip report TomCal
  12. Happiest of days to one of the nicest and smartest fellas out there, Happy Birthday Totally Oz!
  13. I was out and about last night and spent some time with Barrett Long, Jason Crew and Jay Holt. That is like 25-30 inches of cock between the three of them Unfortunately it was at a club and not in a hotel room so nothing happened It would be very fun for me if it had been more than that.
  14. Thanks for the heads up JKane-I have to be in DT LA today to attend a performance at The Music Center so I will allow extra time.I am sure street parking will be at a premium as folks will be driving to this "car free"day
  15. I might actually look at this show now. http://www.afterelton.com/tv/2011/09/two-and-a-half-men-901
  16. As one who used to be a regular(7 or so years ago0that stopped going except once in a blue moon-and then only for breakfast I can certainly see why it closed. Never the less this is one more nail in the coffin for SMB east of La Cienega. Kind of sad-that used to be the fun part I am reminded of seeing Jeff Stryker, Estelle Parsons,Estelle Getty,Shelly Winters and Rip Taylor there on a regular basis. Back in the old days when boys strolled along SMB looking for fun the patio of the silver spoon was a great place to hang out.
  17. Wishing the happiest of days to a beloved member of this community
  18. Such a sexy beast! If he were not famous he would probably be on rentboy.com
  19. So many of them have brightened up many a night in WeHo for me http://gaywesthollywood.com/2011/09/10/dancer-appreciation-day-passed-west-hollywood-city-council/
  20. I enjoyed the best of all possible worlds during my youth. I was squired about by "uncles"starting at 16. Our trips to SF usually included a trip to the P.S. and I was thril;led to see the buffet of manflesh available for a price. I started going to SF on my own as soon as I had a drivers license!Usually under the pretense of attending a Ballet or Opera.I was regular on Polkstasse in no time at all(yes I had a fake ID-but I was really cute back then and that opened a lot of doors)and continued to be so until I moved away from SF in the early 90's.By then it was a sad shadow of its former life. There were so many FUN FUN FUN bars in the good old days=There was a bar on Polk Street called the New Belle Saloon where David Kelsey(RIP) would entertain us on a theater organ and a grad piano-sometimes playing both at once! David was sometimes joined by a all gay band called Pure Trash=all of them adorable young guys. The P.S,The Giraffe,Kimos,The QT,Reflections-where I saw Ertha Kitt do her Cabaret act- so much more enjoyable than the gay bars of today IMO. There was also a very divey bar called Oil Can Harrys on Ellis and Larkin that catered to "chicken and rice" queens=you could get into the "juice bar"secton if you were 16 and you got a wristband. If you were over 21 you could go int the regular bar-which was seperated from the juice bar section by a wall of plexiglass.Of course if you got friendly with an adult he would pour a regular drink into one of the plastic glasses used in the juice bar section. It breaks my heart to visit the site former haunts in SF when I visit now. The Castro bores me to tears these days and 95% of the bars in the other parts of town have either closed or gone straight. And I won't even start about the movie theatres and peep shows,,,,,,, I have a feeling New York had the same sort of fun places,I have a friend who worked in some of the old hustler bars-and maybe a lot of other large cities did also. We will never see this again I am afraid.
  21. I had a Five Guys burger and fries for the first time last night,I thought it was fine except the bun is not sturdy enough to support the fillings. The fries were very good-but way too big of a portion for one person. I had been to Five guys before-for a hot dog and I actually prefer thier hot dogs to their hamburgers.
  22. I stopped at a B&J store today and asked for Schweddy Balls-no luck
  23. I found this blog post when doing some research. Look at the photo from Kimo's -I knew all of those boys-only one of them in the biblical sense however! http://www.outhistory.org/wiki/A_Polk_Street_Sex_Work_Economy I think these were the sort of fellas I was hoping to find in Prague-but rechercher pour les temp passe is a poor plan-as it was in this case
  24. Of course I will be there if I am in town.
  25. The Points Guy is a friend of mine and I am very proud of him turning a hobby into a career. Here is the direct link to his site. http://thepointsguy.com/ I spend a lot of nights in hotels that are less than glamorous(typing this from my club level room at the Sheraton Garden Grove)so that I can spend my leisure time in hotels which I otherwise could not afford-or rather would have a hard time justifying the cost of such lodgings. This year has seen the lodging chains/airlines cutting way back on the promotions offered to their frequent customers. Hyatt abandonned their usuall Free Frequent Night promotion for the first time in six years. Starwood had a very good promotion=three nights stay got you a free night at one of their high end resorts, which is great for those that like resorts-which I don't.Both of theese chains are ending the year on very dull notes which is making me question my loyalty to Starwood for the first time in four years. This persuit of elite status with three chains(I also keep Marriott mid tier) has greatly reduced my budget for the sort of expenses this board is attuned to.Namely my hiring of service providers has dropped dramaticly in the past 3 years. This is actually good timing because my libido has dropped as well as a result of middle age so a comfy bed means more to me than what goes on in that bed! I have also dropped most of my airline status as well-air travel is a hassle for fat guys-and I just am not up to the challenge most days. I still manage to travel a lot more than anyone in my family-and most of the general population. But I am not as driven about this crazy hobby of mine as I used to be.But it is a hard habit to give up completely.
