Did you eventually stay at Hotel Genève? How was it?

Anyone has ever tried the IBIS Style Zona Rosa? Location is perfect but I wonder if it is easy to bring in guests.

Update I have been to both Mixwell and BaliJoe Bar (they are adjacent) last month. Good atmosphere, very party-style places (esp Mixwell). There are gogo shows (no nude) from 10pm. Muscled guys dancing on the bar. But defo nothing like Tawan. There are tons of patrons in the bar litterally grabbing you. And you get dozen of messages in the apps. Great if you are attracted to Indonesians. Otherwise there are many tourists as well, esp Aussies.

I was at Tawan June 2023. Much less bodybuilders than in the past. Maybe 2-3 real bodybuilders and most looking totally uninterested in meeting anyone, just on their phones or talking in the back with other working guys. The place is now opposite the street in a much smaller room, because the owner of the building wanted to sell. Guys are asking around 3000-4000 THB, I could negotiate to 2500 with one and he was good. One other was like 3000 or nothing. I gave up because of the attitude and the guy prefered nothing rather than 2500. There is a show at 10.30pm (there used to be 2 shows few years back) with erected cocks on display and the traditional cum show at the end. Most guys wear masks now. Show is longer and hotter on Fri and Sat. One regular told me there are less bodybuilder because they now have more opportunities to work as personal trainers etc which was not the case before.

Was there Sept 2022 and went to El Taller/Neon, El Almacen, Blow Bar, Tom's Bar, Vaqueros Bar, all had naked strippers. There might be a few more bars with naked strippers I have not been. If anyone can complete the list 😉

If you are into naked erected strippers, I'd prefer CDMX. For GPs, Rio is better, for sure

Went back to Tawan in Nov 2019, after 12 years, and some of the guys are still the same as in 2008... I recognized many of them. And they did not gain muscles :-p It was OK tho, some of the guys on display are quie hot. There were pretty many patrons on the three nights I attended, coming especially for the show and then leaving. There is only one show, not anymore two like in the past. Mamasan and the guys are not pushy. Overall good time there. I noticed tho that some of the new bars have some very good looking guys. Can't remember the name of those places tho.

I was one week in Rio in December and did not feel particular danger. I mistakenly booked Hotel Atlantico PRIME (good hotel btw, no problem to take GP) instead of Atlantico COPACABANA on Booking.com. So I had to walk 1,5km from hotel to 117 every night back and forth (around 20mn walk) and it was OK. Sometimes I would take the metro at Gloria to go to Point 202. It was also OK. Another day I walked to Cinelandia, till the theatre and back and it was OK too.
