Thank guys for the posts. I know a lot of the information is repeated from earlier threads but it's good to hear current news. I arrive in Rio Tuesday 7 February, staying in Copa. Anybody in town and want to meet? PM me. Apart from the saunas, where is good of an evening time for a solo traveller to spend time or hook up? The Boy is closed.

I wouldn't want to insult anyone by offering something too low. I think last time I offered guys 250 - 350. Asking guys after sauna for a dinner date is acceptable I assume?

Thanks, I've had a quick looks and looks more promising. Why do you suggest Bogota? Most of the threads and chat same to rave about Medellin and don't mention Bogota.

It's possible to go to the sauna early evening and then go to The Week in the night-time? - it starts late? And is it OK for a decent looking foreign guy mid 30s going alone to these clubs full of hetros?

Sorry, I should have added, I'd want to fly from a northwest airport (probably Manchester). Getting to Heathrow can be tricky depending on your location in UK.

I would love to visit Medellin but travelling from UK is tricky, several flights and connections required. Travel to Brazil seemingly easier as more convenient flights and better prices (KLM have another flight sale on...).

Why the change in fortunes for Point 202 do you think? For a year or so the place was on its last legs? I'm glad its fortunes are on the up... its location is good for those with a hotel in Copa.

You should have no problem meeting a guy in the sauna willing to go home and maybe spend the day with you for cash. From memory I reckon about 1/4 of the guys spoke at least basic English.

I think in UK we are coming round to this way of thinking, lots of guys promote themselves on Grindr etc as positive and undetectable or on PREP and for many there is no issue now with this. http://i-base.info/htb/30108

I recently stayed at the Ibis twice and they allowed overnight guests. Their rates were pretty reasonable too.
